6 week postnatal check up

I’m due my 6/8 week check up at the doctors and was wondering what this actually entails?
My birth went well, I did have stitches but I think they are all healed and have had no problems. Will I have to have an internal examination?

Hi I had my check a couple of weeks back.
They looked over the baby to check everything is ok (much less thorough than the NIPE check at the hospital though).

They asked if i wanted my stitches checked. I did have mine checked even though I’d had no issues either. They also ask how I was coping from a mental health point of view. And asked about contraception.
I don’t remember them doing anything else!

I would recommend making a list of anything you might want to discuss. I was so focussed on getting baby checked that I forgot about a couple of things for myself that I could have used some advice on!

I havent even recieved my 6/8 week appointment yet

have you registered your baby with your drs? That seemed to be what triggered getting the postnatal check booked for me!

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Fed up

Anyone else just feeling fed up in general? I just never feel happy anymore. Wake up dreading what the day ahead of us will be like.
Little one will be 6 week tomorrow

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
