You feel kicks later on compared to others and birth was absolutely fine x

I haven’t given birth yet but I have an anterior placenta and I actually felt movement really early on, before 16 weeks I was already feeling little twinges and from 16 it was very clearly the baby. At 20 I could already see the kicks from the outside. Midwife said it “tends” to be the case that people feel them later but it’s not necessarily everyone’s experience x

Didn’t feel kicks till about 22 weeks in and nothing major till about 26 weeks. Towards the end though I was begging her to stop and leave me alone 🤣

Didn’t notice at birth as I had a section but it didn’t affect my pregnancy at all.

I had anterior placenta but I didn’t even know until really late. I felt kicks very early so I would never have guessed I had it. I guess it’s different for everyone. I had a C-section so I don’t know if it would’ve had any effect on birth but I would think not

I had one and felt kicks quite late like around 24 weeks and only really could see movements on my belly around the start of my third trimester. It is my first pregnancy though so not sure if that makes a difference.

First pregnancy and anterior placenta, felt movements from 15 weeks and saw them externally from 20 weeks. Whether your placenta is anterior / posterior doesn’t matter when birthing. As long as it is clear of the os (cervix) then location doesn’t matter x

I am currently 33 weeks. Felt flutters from 17 weeks and myself and partner felt kicks with our hands by 20 then got stronger. Could see movements about 25 -27 weeks but through depending on position had days I found it harder to feel either internally or with hand. Mine is a higher front placenta. My friend I believe had a lower front and hardly felt anything throughout the pregnancy and more noticeable to the end but didn’t see her belly move. I don’t believe it effects labour as long as it isn’t covering the cervix x

My girl was anterior and my boy was posterior. I felt them both move from around 16-20 weeks. My girl was more kicking at the sides, in my ribs or lower down. Didn't feel her moving into the birth canal. My boy was all kicks at the front and definitely felt him move into the birth canal, hurt so much! Apart from that not much difference.

I have an anterior and SHE IS DEFINITELY WRIGGLING in there 😂😂 mostly sides top and low down but definitely moving about actively.

I had anterior and could feel her super strongly at times , what are you wondering about birth ? Xx

I was researching and found that in some cases baby can come out in a back to back position which can make labour more painful xx

Avatar

I can’t compare as it was my first baby , it was painful but I was able to cope through , I’d look at options ! I had a water birth which helped me lots , I

I would love a water birth that’s what I’ll opt for if no complications arise fingers crossed xx

Avatar

sorry to nosey in but I had this chat before I found out my baby moved from back to back with a specialist the other day and she said they are often longer labours and hurt more but everyone’s still different and each labour. She only advised me not to have the water birth I wanted because I’ve had some heart rate issues but nothing to do with position x

Avatar

perfect thank you love x

Avatar

they can often feel at 36 weeks and I know someone’s baby who moved at 38.5 weeks x :)

Avatar

fingers crossed my placenta moves in that case it’s just worrying thinking about the what ifs so I can mentally be prepared x

Avatar

no sorry I mean the babies position. They say the placenta doesn’t move after 16 weeks ish but a front placenta is fine as long as it’s not to low. If you’ve had your 20 week scan they will tell you and if it’s a little low or the cervix they will invite you to have another scan and if they haven’t it should be fine x

Avatar

I know don’t worry baby seems in a good position at the moment weighing at 6 ounces. I am just talking in regards to placenta and baby x

Avatar

the placenta is currently at the front and baby is at the back x

Avatar

naw yeah that shouldn’t make any difference then only to feeling movement x

I had anterior. Felt kicks a bit later and low down instead of in stomach.

I also had a back to back labour (but she turned just as she was born) this meant lots of pain in my back and 3 days of labour. Had pethadine and gas and air for pain relief (would have just had gas and air as I didn’t like the risks with pethadine but they refused to let me stay in hospital unless I had pethadine as I was only 4cm on day 2 after having travelled to the hospital 3x. They told me it would make me sleep… it did not and made my baby poo in womb).

Still managed to have a pretty uncomplicated birth even with being back to back. Had to have monitoring for the meconium after she was born but was out of hospital by 5pm (born at 9am)

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
