I had this last week! Woke up at 2am in so much pain & could feel the cramp, mine also lasted 10/15 mins and then the next day it hurt so much!! It should go away by the next day, make sure you drink lots of water because they usually happen when you are dehydrated! & I moved around lots too & stretched it out!

@Rhea am hoping it's just a phase an passes, I normally drink quite alot of water as it's all I drank but yday I didn't drink as much as I normally would 🤦🏼‍♀️ z

Avatar

it will pass don’t worry! mine only lasted a day after and then it went away! The heat probably didn’t help either then 😭 I know it’s so difficult to stay hydrated, I’m constantly sipping!

Been happening to me for a few weeks now. I find that if I prop my one leg up on the pregnancy pillow it isn’t as bad but when I slip off during the night (which is often) it’s so painful. I usually take the time to go and empty my bladder and then it eases slightly.

Very normal but it can also be worse if you’re dehydrated. I find that cold water on the area as soon as you feel it really helps to ease it (I keep a spray bottle by the bed)

I’ve had this for the last few nights. I think it’s from dehydration from the extra heat!

I had this a few nights ago in my calf. Agony 😆

Yes, my boom says they’re pretty normal in pregnancy although no clear reason as to why they happen. Next time you get it just stand up right and step on your feet- the pain stops almost immediately. It’s something I’ve experienced for years before and now even more, so it’s tested but yeah give it a go if you want ☺️

I've had this the last 2 nights in a row, soooo painful, and today my leg hurts a lot to walk too. I'm 35w. Am trying to massage it a bit and keep hydrated 😬

Yep had it for the 2nd time last night. The pain is absolutely unreal. Someone above said to stand immediately - I really feel that my legs would just collapse ??!! But I’ll try it next time ?!

I haven't had a full on cramp yet, but if I stretch my leg too far I feel the tightness of a cramp. I used to get some really nasty ones. So hoping this symptom passes me by.

I truly feel for you all, these cramps are so painful. I was literally squeezing my husband’s hand this morning as it was happening. Mine usually last for a few minutes and are extreme and intense, they then taper and my leg feels bruised for a day or two. I take a magnesium supplement at night (as recommended by the obstetrician) and I feel as though it has helped speed up the recovery time (of feeling bruised).

Avatar

Thanks for the tip about magnesium tablets they're sooo painful aren't they. Before going to bed Im trying to do stretches and ankle rotations apparently that helps too🤷. My friend described the cramps as feeling like you're giving birth through your leg 🤣🤦‍♀️

Avatar

ok, so I absolutely agree with your friend but didn’t write it because I thought that was just me!!!!

Avatar

It's scary how common these leg cramps are, I only got it the 1 night but my leg gas been in agony ever since if I don't have shoes on I actually can't walk with my foot on the floor because the pain is so bad. 🤦🏼‍♀️ this mixed with pgp pain 😫 and extrem back pain is literally killing me off.
Hope all you ladies are OK x

I thought I had a bloody clot from the pain and went to triage 😂

Avatar

oh no 🙈 did they tell you everything was OK?? X

Avatar

Yes!!!! They were lovely and checked for a clot but said it was just the after effects of a cramp. They said they’d much prefer we go in to check than assume it’s ok. They gave me some dvt socks, listened to baby, checked urine and did a vaginal swab (which I asked for as I was worried it could be bloody - it wasn’t).

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
