Ask you GP if you can double your omeprazole - Iāve had to start taking 40mg as opposed to 20mg.

Cut out processed carbs ... It's worked a treat for me and I even have a hiatal hernia!
I'm only taking the odd Rennie when I eat something that sets me off... But I've found cutting out bread pasta pastry and rice has basically got rid of my acid reflux x

I was really struggling with heartburn and have found that eating fermented foods have really helped eg kefir and pickles, drinking water with a tbsp of cider vinegar with the mother every day, eating plenty of cucumber and green olives also helps a lot. Occasionally I drink a tbsp of psyllium husks dissolved in warm water, this doesnāt balance the acid but is supposed to line your throat a bit to reduce the burn. Itās loads better since doing all this.

I have GD so have already cut that out x

Iāll give them a ring today! Gastric issues were bad enough before pregnancy and now I feel like my insides are on fire šx

Mine were too and itās not necessarily diet related for me - believe me nothing works for me.

somethings make it worse or exacerbate the symptoms but the reality is that the only thing that has helped is increasing the omeprazole.

yeah Iāve had to cut out certain things that I found made it a little worse! Just looked on my online GP account and turns out Iām already taking 40mg š looks like Iām just going to have to ride it out until little one comes x

Oh blimey! Still speak to them - the gastroenterologist recommended upping the dose and mixing that with gaviscon twice a day. Iāve also been prescribed a different med (pantoprazole?!) so call because itās def not worth being uncomfortable

As well as speaking with GP, you might find it worth researching the FODMAP diet and eating less foods that have been studied and proven to increase creation of bloaty gasses. I have Ibs pre pregnancy and eating less inflammatory foods has helped. I've reintroduced some so baby has had tasters in the womb but not loads and not all at the same time. The MONASH university studies food and created an app to help people. One off cost of £5 and its totally worth it. But please do your own research.
