What should I pack in mine (hubby will have his own for sanity's sake)
I'm thinking:
Apples
Bourbon biscuits
Ginger nut biscuits
Seabrook crisps
Cadbury dairy milk chocolate
Raisins
Crackers
Small juice drink cartons
Lucozade sport
Bottles of water
But what else would keep (at least for a little while) outside of a fridge?

I could not stop vomiting during labour and once I had an epidural was not allowed to eat so I would pack stuff that’s soft on the stomach and focus more on fluids and stuff for energy x

Agree with the comment above. Once my contractions started, all I wanted was energy drinks like the Lucozade and couldn’t bear having anything else 😁 But I would still advise to pack something for energy, maybe granola bars?

I only ate a packet of crisps on the evening of the night I went in to be induced. Other than that I ate the meals the hospital provided and drank water which was provided. Once my contractions started I didn't feel like eating anything and was told best not to drink my lucozade incase I needed to go for csection. So I don't think you'll need as much as you have on your list.

Same as above During labour i wasn’t interested in food i drank loads of lucozade orange but afterwards i could not get enough chocolate 🤣🤣

I packed so many snacks and had no appetite during labour at all! After birth I really wanted lucozade original but I didn’t get an appetite until about a week or so after birth. I suggest light snacks like cereal bars

Drinks wise I found it really helpful taking a drinks bottle with a straw. I then took a bottle of squash and made myself squash. I was in for 6 nights so was something that lasted without getting more.

Oh wow. Thanks for all of that, ladies. Cereal bars and fluids gotcha and snacks for PP.

I ate a whole box of cereal bars after birth.
The tea and toast everyone raves about wasn’t brought to me for about 4 hours and when it did arrive was cold and stale so I was glad I’d had them. I’m going to pack a few more light bits for after birth this time, although really hoping to experience the toast this time 😅 .
(the midwife’s were amazing, but they were short staffed) .

I’ll be packing a nice big redbull for after that’s for sure!

I took loads of snacks but as I had to be induced and ended up with an epidural I wasn't allowed to have any of them... only the drinks! The first night after my daughter was born, I went looking for my snacks around my hospital bed as I really wanted them.. couldn't find them anywhere and turns out the other half had taken them home 🙈🤪 x

when I had my first, my husband fed me tangfastics inbetween pushes to get me through the last bit - would recommend 😂 also lots of lucozade (the non fizzy one). I had also had an epidural and was allowed to eat small amounts so must depend on each hospital’s policy x
