I have a 1 1/2 year old and the car seat I have says at 22lbs it can be switched too forward facing. My daughter weighs 22lbs and her height is 31 inches. When should I switch her to forward facing? Should I wait until she’s closer to 2 years old.?

Rear face as long as possible. They recommend maxing out every setting before moving to the next. Rear face until you max it out. Forward face till you max it out. ❤️ they’re much safer backwards 😭🫶🏻

ok thank you

Their bones don’t fuse until 4-6 years old. You want them rear facing as long as humanly possible to reduce the risk of internal decapitation x

Of course dear anything to help keep another little safe 🫶🏻

Join the car seat safety group on Facebook, lots of great information and advice! Basically rear face as long as possible, even up to 6 yo. Don’t listen to the legal stuff of “they are okay to forward face”, you might not get a ticket but if you really want to keep them safe just keep them rear faced

Our girl is 1.5 little girl is about 32” tall & 31lbs last we checked. She’s forward facing but really because weight

you can get rear facing seats up to 36kg/79lbs x

you can get seats til they are like 4/5age to rear face x

Check your seat manual and max out the rear facing limits before forward facing (height, weight, OR head height. One and done) Just because your LO meets the minimum requirements to forward face doesn't mean her body is developed enough to be safe forward facing. Regardless of what is legal in your state, the science is clear that it is scientifically safest to rear face as long as possible.
