Is anyone else thinking of having a home birth?

I am having an appointment with the home birth team on Wednesday to discuss and just wondered if anyone else is opting for a home birth too?

I am! I'm based in Liverpool and under whiston. I've been with the home birth time from 26 weeks and loved all appointments so far x

I am, had one with my first and would want it any other way x

Yep! I had everything set up but wasn’t able to with my first (all of the home birth team were called out just before I went into labour!), so definitely will be this time. I still had a wonderful experience in the hospital birthing pool with my first, but so excited to be in my own environment this time 🥰 x

Me! Midwives are lovely and going to hire a birthing pool.

Me too! Pool arriving in a week and had my home birth visit last week which was really positive 🙂

I'm having a home and water birth. Had to buy a birthing pool which isn't cheap, but hiring one is barely any cheaper and I plan on having a second child so it'll come in handy.

Wanted a home water birth from day one, but since being mistreated and left in the dark about everything by midwives and doctors, it's reinforced my decision. I am going in blind and having to do as much research for myself as possible as the midwives aren't helping.

i’m so sorry to hear about your experience with the midwives and doctors.
I did not have a good experience in the hospital with my first child so really considering a home birth this time. Got my appointment to discuss it this morning!

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience last time in the hospital, may I ask what happened if you're comfortable sharing?

I hope you get to have the home birth experience you want.

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
