When did you start buying things for baby?

Afternoon all, I’m due early Jan and feel like financially I want to start buying things to spread out the cost … but it doesn’t feel right as I’m only just nearly half way there. Feels like I’m jinxing things. What did everyone else do?

Oh wow I’m due the same day! Ok that makes me feel better. The only thing I’ve bought is a few baby grows today and then I almost felt like should I be doing this, but that makes me feel better!

The only thing I need to get is ^*

I’m due 4th January and I’ve only just started buying things. I wanted to wait past 12 weeks to make sure everything was ok first. I don’t have my space for big items yet but have brought a few things, some things I will wait until I know the gender for too. There’s always so much to get it’s really overwhelming

Avatar

I don’t have anything yet, why don’t you put a bit of money aside each month then if you see something buy it when you are ready as sometimes storing it all can be a pain too. X

Avatar

I’ve only just started and I’m nearly 35 weeks!

I'm due 4th January and have only bought 1 girl and 1 boy outfit. This is my second so I have a lot from my first hut I want to buy a lot new and haven't even started buying anything yet.

Avatar

yeh this is the alternative just money aside often gets spent on other things! lol. For big things (pram etc) I will def hold off just was curious as to when most start. It feels like it makes pregnancy a bit more real and fun to start buying but also feels like something I shouldn’t be doing!

I did a laybuy when I found out gender for a few baby items. But I didn’t have much money/a place until I was between 8-9m. I brought the majority of his bigger items around then due to financials.

Avatar

I think that’s why I found it hard to resist today because we found out the gender yest

Avatar

aww it’s all so exciting. What are you having? I want to find out but also want to keep it a surprise this time but it’s sooo hard 😭😂
Mama you go buy all the baby things you want. You aren’t going to jinx anything and you’ll be more prepared for later on x

I’m due 8th Jan and started buying around 7 weeks. So far we’ve got her entire wardrobe, a next to me crib, Moses basket, changing mat, breast pumps, most of the decorations for the nursery and other bits and bobs. We still need to get some of the bigger items such as travel system (but will get that later due to storing it for so long) and a lot of the smaller items

Avatar

oh wow, we’re due the same day 😊 good to know I’m not the only one! I hate feeling disorganised!

Avatar

we are having a boy 😊 I’ve always said I’d want to find out as did my partner so we was in agreement!!
Thank you - I feel so much better now! Was almost feeling guilty about it! Xx

Avatar

agree the bigger items I will wait until nearer the time, but there is so much on the list to buy I just want to get started! X

Avatar

aww beautiful! I have two boys so hoping for a girl this time around 😂 found out for both of them around 10-12wks but kinda wanna wait for a surprise but like the idea of being able to prepare 😫 the struggle is real. I will add I was still buying stuff for my bubs when he was 3 days old (came out smaller than expected and didn’t have any clothes small enough)

Avatar

yes I understand it’s so overwhelming as well because so much is needed.
Maybe start small by picking up a few vests, nappies etc and you will work your way through it.
I am a big fan of pre loved items myself too so there will be a mixture of things new and pre loved for us as it can be so expensive but you can pick up some real bargains out there. Happy shopping! The most important thing is that you have fun and congrats on finding out the gender 🩷💙 x

I am due 4 January and did not buy anything. I try to put aside some money so I can buy all later when I am 7 months…I try to do research and see what I like, kind of creating a wish list of the things I will want and will need 😊

We suffered some losses before this so a little anxious at this stage.

But I've still bought a few bits, mainly on vinted to have some clothes to try and connect and bond but I'll probably leave alot of stuff until just before baby comes.

I've had lists of things to buy and done all my research over the last 2 yrs since our first pregnancy so I'm ready with my well researched list!

We only plan on having one so makes sense to get some of the bigger things like prams second hand too

Avatar

I brought all my stuff from vinted
Bundles of clothing
Etc
And got a travel system that was pretty much brand-new from one of my friends

Stress urinary incontinence

Do other moms have a hard time holding their pee in while sneezing, laughing or coughing?

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and so tired of this :( I’ve been using pads to catch the spurts but I noticed that I’m starting to bleed because of those pads and possibly catch a yeast infection.

Wondering how you coped with this.

Triage test results

I ended up in triage on Tuesday evening due to some bleeding. They did a swab test and a urine sample and said they thought I had a urine infection but would send it away.
How long should it generally take to get results back?
Also, I was prescribed iron tablets on Monday and haven’t heard anything more, should it take this long to get a prescription? I’m literally exhausted all the time.

I’m READY! What do you miss the most about not being pregnant ?

39weeks +4 days today. I’m ready to give birth but this baby is snug as a bug it seems. I have enjoyed my pregnancy but I’m done I want this baby out! I have a list of things I miss doing! Like breathing and fucking my husbands brains out. Don’t get me wrong we still have sex but its too hard to enjoy it like I used to. I’m soo ready to push this kid out and heal up so I can ride that dick like I mean it.. 🤣

So much pressure!

I’m 35+5 currently and since around Tuesday this week I have suddenly got so much pressure on the bottom half of my bump! At my 34 week midwife appointment she did say baby is head down (4/5 engaged) so I’m assuming this additional pressure increase is baby moving down further? I’m just sooo uncomfortable when walking now or when I lay/sit in certain positions lol. I just don’t think I was expecting it to be this bad!
Anyone else at this very uncomfortable stage? 😂🥲
