I’m having a really rough time because of my mother in law and my mother. I really am trying breastfeeding the best I can but this girl can eat and she will be a week old tomorrow. I pump every two hours and I breast feed as much as I can but at nighttime I sometimes had it with breastfeeding cause I’m so dead tired I would rather give her breast milk in a bottle. And sometimes I pump all day and there still isn’t enough left so I substitute formula for my mental health sake. My mom just thinks that’s not right using formula but I’m literally going insane.

So baby is cluster feeding which is when baby feeds and then 5mins later wants to feed again.
This is the natural way to build your supply every time baby feeds it stimulates the breast to make more milk.
So when your supplementing with formula are you pumping?? Ideally it's advised to not pump too much straight away as it can cause an oversupply I would highly recommend a hakka pop it on the other side to baby feeding or use when feeding baby.
Theirs nothing horrific about formula and a fed baby is best but their are implications on formula when trying to breastfeed .
Have you read up on the 4th trimester also xx

I'm going to share what professionals who are more informed than my mom and MIL are (not to kick old school information, some is useful but some well🤔)
It is 100% ok to combo feed until your breast milk fully comes in. You can 100% give your baby a bottle of breastmilk if you need a break from breastfeeding or need to pump to help increase your supply. A fed baby is a fed baby and how you go about it is ok in the beginning, as long as your child is fed and taken care of. Yes of course breastmilk is way better for a child but you aren't a bad person if you need a break. Breastfeeding isn't easy! After a week I had to only pump and feed my LO a bottle of breastmilk because latching was hard and my nipples hurt so badly. I had to also supplement with 1 or 20z of formula a few nights in the beginning to help keep him full.
My baby is 8 months and he's exclusively breastfeeding — but needing a break and bottle feeding breastmilk is ok.
Sending you hugs and so much love—you got this Mama!
