Hi does anybody know the rules around visiting once you have had your baby?
Are external family members allowed now? (Parents/grandparents)
Thanks

When I had my baby (via C-section) no visitors were allowed besides her dad. That was November 2023 though it may have changed x

No visitors unless dad or different birthing partner and siblings can also visit

Gave birth Feb 2024. Dad was allowed whole time, our son joined us for abit to meet his sister. I believe the website says 2 visitors at a time. But check with the suite (birth centre/labour ward) because I think rules are different for each xx

I wasn't allowed visitors on the discharge ward Dec 2023

this was the same for me in January 2023

No visitors xx

I gave birth June this year xx

I gave birth 5 weeks ago and no visitors allowed only partner and children x

Once on the ward after the birth of your baby we can only facilitate one birthing partner who can be your partner or one nominated person who can visit or remain with you throughout your stay in this area. This person is here to assist you with the care of your baby Day and Night. This nominated person is the only person other than siblings who can visit on the postnatal ward. We do not facilitate swapping of birth partners during this period.
Siblings from the same family unit are welcome to visit on Aspen and Cedar Ward between the hours of 9am and 9pm accompanied by the nominated birth partner provided they are: free from obvious infection and not left on their own. - dvh website

I had my baby via c section there and I had visitors. I wasn’t told anything about visitors not being allowed but was told 2 visitors could come. This was Oct 2023
