40+3 had a sweep with 1 cm dilation
Hello Ladies,
I am 40+3 and had my first membrane sweep this morning with 1 cm dilation. Anyone had a similar experience and what are the chances of going into labour after this sweep?
My midwife told me since it is just 1 cm so chances are very low and booked me for another one for tuesday (27th). but looking for success stories since I found sweep very uncomfortable

I had a sweep 8 days ago at 1cm and had my bloody show, had another one 48 hours later and only 1.5cm then one yesterday and 2cm dilated with tightenings but they stopped after a few hours
I feel the same as you. I had a sweep yesterday and it was way more uncomfortable and painful than the one I had with my first child. She said my cervix was behind baby’s head. So I declined going back tomorrow for a second one but they’ve booked me in for next Tuesday also. Really hope baby starts making a move on his own!
My plan is to do lots of bouncing on my exercise ball, kerb walking and exercises to get baby really engaged (YouTube vids help).
