UPPABABY VISTA V2 PROS & CONS?

Could any Uppababy Vista V2 owners give the pros and cons and if they love it? I think I'm pretty set on this as our travel system but would love to hear what others think about it!

I love it. Easy to use, lots of storage, very manoeuvrable, great off road (in parks etc.)
Biggest con is that it can be bulky and heavy to pack up (fine if you can push it up to the car, unfortunately I can't in our garage).

We also have a car capsule that fits with adaptors.

Avatar

@Rachel ooh perfect! Thankfully we have a drive so will be able to push right up to it, is it super duper heavy and bulky? Or just a bit annoying- happy to hear of other similar alternatives but think we had our heart set on this.
Can I ask what the car capsule is? Is it the mesa seat? X

Avatar

@Amy just annoying, but I am also 5'10, so might be worse if you aren't as tall.
It's pack down is easy, and you can unclip it while pulling it out of the car and it'll unfold as you put it on the ground.

We have the maxi cosi mico 12 LX.

Avatar

Ah ok I'm 5'3 so this may make it interesting šŸ„²šŸ˜‚
Wonder if there are places that let you test things like this?

We love it, compared to the bugaboos the frame is much smaller and more manoeuvrable. Fits well in car but ensure you have a big boot to fit all comfortably, I had no problems lifting it in and out of boot, while pregnant at 5'6. Good suspension for country walks, big basket and I like how customisable it is. Bear in mind v3 is coming out soon so take a look on YouTube, IMHO v3 is not worth it but might get a nice discount on the v2 once it comes out

@Julia thankyou! Yes I looked at the buggaboo but seems a lot bulkier and unecesarily so too!
Yes will keep an eye out for any sales, also scouring marketplace in the hope of an immaculate second hand one as they're so expensive šŸ™ƒšŸ˜‚

Haha yes we scoured the fb marketplace too, good luck!

Also you can test hiw the pram fits into your car at John lewis

Love love love the bassinet! Hate the car seat. I'd go with a Clek liing or Chicco KeyFit car seat and get the adapter for the stroller. My kiddo outgrew the mesa car seat at 8 months and only 27" due to the 1" rule. We used the bassinet everywhere until kiddo outgrew it. Going to grandparents house and he has a comfy place to sleep at home it was portable around the entire house! I haven't been impressed with the rumble seat. My older kiddo is 20 months and his torso is too tall to use the rumble seat comfortably. So we will be using the bassinet or car seat on the bottom for baby and toddler seat for my 20 month old. I do love how I can fold and then stand it up nicely in my trunk (Honda CRV) so I have room for groceries or other things beside the stroller and don't have to pile them on-top. Love how smooth it is to push and how large the basket is. Every stroller has its puts and takes but I would have picked this stroller again for one kid... Maybe not two 🤷

Avatar

@Ashlee thankyou! We looked at the mesa car seat that's compatible and it seemed OK, can I ask what you didn't like about it?

Ooh I didn't realise you could mix and match different brand car seats onto an uppababy frame? X

Avatar

I haven't used it yet as I'm due in 5 weeks, but what sold me on the Uppababy V2 system was the 3 year warranty. The bassinet, stroller, and car seat all have it. Most other companies only offer a 1 year warranty.

Avatar

We have it and the only thing I dislike is how big it is as it takes up a lot of boot space but equally I like the size as the basket underneath is huge. Definitely much bulkier compared to friends. We have had the chassis replaced recently under warranty and their customer services was fab. We like because it can be made into a double incase we go again. We have the maxi cosi pebble 360 pro car seat and the adaptors for that. Perfect! Wouldn’t change a thing. X

Avatar

I love ours so much. I think all cons are listed, mine are only weight and price although it only gets a lot when you fully fill the basket

Avatar

@N L oh amazing and does the pebble clip onto the pram frame? X

We just got a vista ahead of second kiddo in December. Stuck with uppa because we already had a lot of the accessories. It works well a and pushes well but it is wider than some doors. Fits in my Toyota Corolla trunk but takes up pretty much the whole trunk.

We will probably have a lighter weight one for travel and do baby carrier a lot of the time too.

Avatar

Also love it šŸ«¶šŸ» great on most terrains, very durable, huge basket, toddler seat is a good size, bassinet is suitable for overnight sleep and both my babies slept like a dream in it! We have the mesa car seat too and so easy to pop onto the frame to go out and about. Can go into a double as well but we haven’t used it as one.

One thing to consider is the Uppa baby minu, it’s their travel/fold up pram but this can be made up into a bassinet for newborn stages and can add the car seat on with adapters. We have this also and I do find I use this more as it folds up easier, uses less space, little one seems comfy. It costs a lot less too! X ac

Avatar

you just have to buy the adaptors and every time you want to use it like that put the adaptors on it’s super easy x

Avatar

thanks so much! I'm going to take a look at that! X

We LOVE ours. I had two boys, 20 months apart, so it was a life saver for me leaving the house solo with them. It’s great for traveling/flying cuz it’s sturdy so we don’t worry about it breaking. It also pushes very smoothly, you can steer it with one hand. Both my sons slept in the bassinet until 3 months old. The only negative is that it is big, so it takes up most of my trunk. But, again, it’s a life saver so I always keep it in my car. I’m due with baby #3 and love how there’s a ā€œpiggy backā€ stand for my oldest kid ā¤ļø

My son ā€œwiggles his bumā€ not sure how to approach it

He is 3. He lays face down and goes left right - wiggles his privates on his bed/sofa etc. Calls it ā€œwiggling his bumā€ should I be concerned or is it a good idea to set boundaries? Not sure how to approach this. Advice appreciated

Cosleeping

So my 5 month old sleeps in a portable bassinet between myself and my husband every night. He's so good, he sleeps the whole night with both of us each holding one of his hands. My husband wants him to start sleeping in his crib but I honestly love him being with me. I sleep so much better knowing he's right there with me. The times I have tried to put him in his crib he screams and I feel so awful. I also sit there watching the monitor and don't ever get any sleep. I feel like I am being selfish because I want him to stay in the bed with me. I get that in the long run it's better for him to learn to sleep in his crib in his own room but I am just so not ready and he doesn't seem to be either. Is there ever really a good time to make the change? Anyone else dealing with this?

Stylish nappy bags?

Seems silly but I really hate the look of all the nappy backpacks I've seen. Has anyone come across any stylish bags that do well as a nappy bag? Seems small and silly but I'm really worried about losing my sense of self when baby arrives and this seems like a small, easy way to retain some of my style and character

My baby barely sleeps + lots of gas & reflux - help! Any advice??

Hi, my baby’s 6 weeks old and in the past week at least he has barely been sleeping during the day, and not much at night either. Like maybe he has one nap that’s longer than 1 hour during the whole day and then mostly falls asleep while breastfeeding, and even if I wait for him to be in deep sleep once I move him to the bed/crib he doesn’t sleep in it more than 50 minutes, usually waking up very shortly after, like 5 or 10 minutes. At night he might sleep one or 2 longer stretches, if I’m lucky more than 2 hours, or about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
He struggles a lot with gas and that’s one common reason I believe he wakes up so much and I have been doing the exercises with his legs to help him when I see him struggling. He’s also got lots of reflux, sometimes it shoots out of his mouth and I get scared that maybe it’s not normal but at the same time he is gaining weight and does a good number of diapers per day.

I’m just really struggling tho as I barely get any sleep and can do any basic task, as he also doesn’t really like spending time with his dad and cries shortly after being with him.
I don’t know how long I can survive if things don’t get better.. I’ve been crying today as I also don’t have any family around us that can help and I wish I did, cause it’s really hard..

Husband getting up

Everyday I have to wake up my husband like a little kid to either help me or take our oldest to school if I don’t he will sleep till who knows when.
He always tells me to wake him up but tbh I feel like he should just do it on his own he’s a grown man. Then I feel like I annoy him and he’s in a bad mood when I wake him up. But if I don’t he says it’s my fault being overwhelmed with the kids because I didn’t wake him up. It’s like a lose lose battle for me.
But I’m curious in how others are? Is it just my husband or are others sleeping in too? Do you have to wake them up or do they wake on their own?
Also 10m pp and haven’t slept in since we had our toddler 2 years ago so crankyAF and jealous he can sleep in and I can’t šŸ˜’
