Love the name Ted, but what to have as full name?

Love the name Ted, but not keen on Edward or Theodore. Any other suggestions? Or is it okay to just register as Ted?

You could do other Ed- names, like Edwin, Edmund.

Maybe Thaddeus as an alternative to Theodore?

But I like just Ted, if that’s what you’re gonna call him, use that!

I know a Jon (not Jonathan), and two Charlies (not Charles), and while they sometimes have to say to people “no, it’s just Jon, it’s not short for anything” I don’t think it’s that big a deal. Especially not anymore. Names like Alfie, Jack and Fred originated as nicknames but are popular names on their own right now. Why not just Ted?? Go for it if that’s the name you love!

Definitely okay to just register as Ted!

My cousin named her son Teddy x

Yes people switch between Teddy and Ted, it all just depends on what the person chooses to say. But yes no clue at those ages x

Edison

definitely okay to just register Ted as a full name!

other options could be Edgar, Tedmund, Edwin, Thaddeus, Edmund or Edison.

another option is Arthur - more of a stretch, but the name means "bear" so you easily could use Teddy/Ted as a nickname!

We love the name Ted too and if we use it he’ll just be a Ted.
I don’t understand the need to have a longer “formal” name for a short name especially a short name you intend to use daily for a child.
A guy I knew from school was originally an Edward but was always known as Teddy and was fed up of putting Edward down on legal documents etc so he changed his name by deed poll once he turned 18.

My boys name is Teddy we call him Ted, but we met a wee boy at the soft play his name was just Ted x

I have a Theodore (my twin decided between that and Edward) but he’s just Ted to me/the family/school, sometimes he’s a Teddy….. I wish I’d just officially named him Ted to be honest!!

If you love Ted, just stick to it/register him as that!

I love it as a NN, and as the name itself. You can always call him Teddy as a NN if wanted to go that route?

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
