Does anyone have any tips about the calpol plug are they any good do they actually work
My son is so congested with coughs and a runny nose since yesterday we’ve been giving him normal calpol checking his temp and been using baby Vicks so far and just want to try anything else possible that helps babies

If he doesn’t have a temperature then you may not need to give Calpol - it won’t help the cough and cold. The plug-in is good though - but I’ve since heard Boots do their own brand one with cheaper refills 😊

The plug in worked wonders for us especially overnight, I highly recommend it

Yeah highly recommend the plug in.
I would still give Calpol regardless if not for a temp or not because he may generally be feeling a bit shitty. Like if we feel shit we would take paracetamol or whatever.
Get some saline nasal spray as well does kinda help shift the mucus x

We’ve got the plug in and it’s been a great help in the past. We’ve also elevated the bed slightly to help with sleep.

We use the calpol plug, baby vaporub on the chest and feet and saline nasal spray.
I’d also still give the calpol as you don’t know if they’re feeling achy, headachy or just generally rubbish!

Calpol plug was amazing for us when it came to congestion at night… how old is your LO as I think that can be the difference in what to use.. what we use now is different to say what we used when she was pretty bad in the early days xx

The calpol plug in worked miracles for us x

The plug ins are great for congestion we always use them

We really rate the plug in x

Yep 100000% works wonders use it all the time for my son when he has a blocked nose

I got a cold water diffuser and I put Olbas oil in the water. It’s much cheaper than keep buying refills for a plug in

The plug in is great! We put duct tape over the light though as that's annoying. I also get an extra night or so out of the little pads by dousing them in the kids Olbas oil and using again. Probably not recommended but it works. The inserts are like £1 each 🫣

We’re not a fan in our house. I find them far too strong. They always seem to make coughs worse here because of how strong they are. I much prefer the boots vapouriser and a humidifier

We use the plug in and it helps. As others have said baby vicks on the chest and nose spray and id give calpol, little one could be achy or have a sore throat etc Asda also do a vapour bath bubble bath to use before bed to help with congestion

Saline nasal drops are good

Can you use the calpol plug at 1 month? I think it says 3 months but I’m not sure why? Wondering if anyone has used it earlier?

I have the calpol plug in, I’ve always used these and I swear by them!

I found it too overpowering and the nightlight was a pain! I prefer some drops of Snuffle Babe or Olbas on a muslin nearby

They seem to work. The best really is saline nose spray every 3hrs, that’s what the dr told us. Really helps any cold. Also Olbas oil, couple drops on a bib or sleeping bag. Hope baby recovers quickly.

can I do that with an 11 month old or is he too young still

he’s 11 months xx

if you mean the propping up I would just check guidance. Mine is 23mths and we put some books at one end of her bed.

so at 3 months we struggled but now at 9 months, we give her a bath with vapour bath in, then we use an electronic nose suction which has lights and music to make sure she is cleared as much as possible, we then put Baby Vicks on her chest / belly then use a Calpol plug in…. Sometimes running the shower as hot as you can to get a steamy bathroom and sitting on in bathroom (maybe toilet lid or something) with baby for max 10 minutes also helps xx
