Overwhelmed with how to redecorate/how to afford furniture

My house is falling apart, the sofas look horrendous, my little girl is getting too big for a toddler bed, my bed/wardrobe are also looking really run down as I've had them years and my mattress gives me a bad back. I don't know where to start as it's just me I don't know where best to post to try and sell, and also how I'm going to afford getting these replaced as they're not cheap items. Just looking for some advice on how I can do this? I have little left after everything a month so is proving very difficult to save. Anyone got any tips?

Find a good will near you and buy one piece at a time

Facebook marketplace and local facebook groups for ‘buy and sell’ ‘don’t dump, donate’ ‘freecycle’? Once you find one you tend to find a bunch more! People are constantly giving stuff away on there, and you can post and ask if anyone has something specific you need! Lots of groups have the anon feature too if you know people locally and don’t want them seeing you ask for something. You might just end up needing to pay a man with a van to help transport the big items! Check what you’re entitled to as well, there’s lots of grants out there depending on your location to help buy certain furniture, if you’re in the UK have a look at the ‘Discretionary Assistance Fund’, it’s one emergency payment to help with things like gas bills, and one to help buy furniture like beds, sofas, chairs, and white goods like fridge, washing machine etc x

If you can drive, then Facebook marketplace, Olio, or gumtree are good options! Some people even give furniture away from free cz they want to get rid of it and they look to be in good condition. A friend of mine recently moved to her very first flat and she got so many good freebies like wardrobes, sofa, bed frames from these apps and sites!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
