You will pick up your other baby and it is hard, I don’t think you can’t not pick up your first. However because you can’t just wallow I think the recovery is easier. Keep analgesia in your nappy caddy at hand and keep on top of it. Maybe see if you can get your toddler into nursery for an extra day a week, that’s what we did. The days he didn’t go to nursery my husband took as annual leave for the first four weeks after it.

I was at the farm 5 days PP 😂

I’m 6 weeks postpartum and it is still painful but it is manageable with a toddler and newborn. My LO was 20 months too!
My toddler kisses my tummy and tries to make it better, bless her!
When she wanted cuddles I would sit down and bring her up to me rather than lift her while standing.
I avoided putting her in the cot at night for the first 4/5 weeks (my husband would do this) but lifting her out of her cot in the mornings was alright!
I think just keep a close eye on how it feels/looks - it’s very easy to just get on with it when you have 2 under 2, but I ended up with a uterus infection that would have gone unnoticed had I not gone to the doctor about something else and they picked up on it. It was really really tender above my scar (to the point I couldn’t stand the doctor touching it) and I thought it was normal but it wasn’t!
Good luck with everything - it’s chaos most of the time but 2 under 2 is the best thing ever!! X

My little girl was 18 months and is really clingy. I sat on the sofa and got her to sit on me that way when she wanted picking up but you just end up picking them up. I found this time round my recovery was amazing and I was so nervous having a toddler but was easy. If you have someone with you for atleast the first week you will be fine! Keep on top of your pain meds though!

My daughter was 2 years old when my son was born, I was picking her up after 5 days. Was a planned c section and was much quicker recovery than my previous emergency c section.
I’m really glad I went for the planned section, I was running again 8 weeks after 👍

Also it helps being pregnant before (I stopped picking up my toddler and sat down for cuddles while heavily pregnant) so she was used to it! X

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
