I have to ask, the nightmares I’m getting, honestly never had so many, are they normal? I don’t particularly wake up terrified like but they aren’t nice dreams and I just wanted to know if I’m the only one?

Nightmares are common durning pregnancy. Try to stay away from sugary things before bed and I know for me I had to be super mindful what I did or watched before bed because whatever I was doing or watching before I fell asleep I would have very vivid dreams of it .
thank you, it puts my mind at ease. I’m only 17 and it’s really unsettling waking up after dreaming about drowning or something feeling like I’m gasping for air cause I’ve had a hot flush or I’m a bit dehydrated 😅

Aw man that’s really rough ! Yeah I had some wild dreams and like you said there not always scary but just unsettling . I hope they don’t last too long for you tho !

I got the worst nightmares while pregnant. Woke up crying and scared i kinda forgot until you mentioned it .
I am so sorry if I triggered something, I feel like I should’ve put it as insensitive, I feel awful

No its okay looking back it was a weird period of vivid dreams . I just forgot about it cause having my baby really made me forget i was pregnant before he was here.
well congratulations on your little boy, he looks lovely, I’m glad that the nightmares seemed to have stopped for you

Mine became worse if the temperature of the room was high. Try to sleep in a cool room and sheets. Not sure about the science behind it but apparently, sweating or feeling hot can lead to nightmares
I’ll keep that in mind, it never helps that I wake up dehydrated, especially after a dream that feels suffocating, always panics me when I wake up 😅

Mine was the samr. Drinking liquid iV also helps with night time dehydration and less frequent urination at night as a bonus lol

This was me in the first trimester. My husband likes to watch horror YouTube videos and/or YouTube bloggers who goes around to haunted houses and stuff for a background noise for him to go to bed. I always have to tell him to turn it off or I turn it off when he falls asleep because I absolutely hate it. It does give me nightmares. He doesn’t do it anymore though. I’m now in my third trimester and sometimes I hear his YouTube videos on when I’m sleeping but it’s more of gaming YouTube videos now which is a lot better than the horror ones.
I’m glad to be hearing that they seem to stop after I’ve had the baby at least, something else to look forward to 😊

Pregnancy and post partum for months. I also cannot touch horror or thriller, no matter how tame. It’s October and the first film I tried to watch was not scary at all, just trippy and it still immediately brought on nightmares. Agree with everyone, avoid eating late and scary stories.

yep and i use to get sleep paralysis while pregnant too it sucked
