We have just started combi feeding after 6 days as I had nipple trauma and the cluster feeding of one hour on, one hour sleep from 2pm - 2am was giving me no time to heal.
Our midwife recommended getting a haakaa to collect any let down during the times I do breastfeed to start collecting a supply of breast milk.
1) we got the Tommee Tippee version as we could pick it up from Boots the same day but Amazon also sell them.
2) you need two sterilised bottles in the fridge, one to put the milk in when it is freshly collected to chill. Then you pour that in the other bottle once chilled as your supply. You cannot put the ‘warm’ milk in with the chilled supply.
We also started off with formula, the 70ml ready to go bottles to see how he got on it with it. We have a bottle warmer so you can literally pour the formula into a sterile bottle, warm it and go while we get used to a routine of adding a bottle feed. We are about to move onto powder.
Hope that helps!
