I had my 32 week growth scan today (32+4) and they said baby is very small and doesn’t seem to be growing.
I’ve got to go back next week and the week after for more scans and they said worst case scenario is I will be induced at 35 weeks but they will try to get me to 37 weeks if they can.
I feel like 35 weeks is way too early and it’s only just over 2 weeks ago and I’m not ready 🙁🙁🙁
Has anyone else had this?

This is the same as me, I’m possibly a week ahead as I have started my weekly check ups already.
Have they said what’s measuring small and by how much? Xx

They haven’t said how small but my little boy was small which is why I’ve had these scans booked in. I had reduced movements 6 weeks ago and had a scan then and they said he ‘hasn’t grown much’ since then. I kind of zoned out when they said 35 weeks thinking how soon that is x

Currently going through this too. Had my 32 week scan 2 Fridays ago and she's measuring 4th centile. Got another scan this Friday. I've been booked in for induction when I hit 37 weeks but depending on what the scan says this Friday it may be brought forward.

this happened with my little girl, I had numerous growth scans because she was small then at 38w she stopped and I was induced the week after. With this baby he dropped from the 50th to the 13th in 8 weeks x

did you end up having to deliver your little big early the first time?
Try not to worry, baby can still grow between now and 2 weeks keep doing what you’re doing and rest as much as you can too. 35 weeks is earlier than you prepared for but he’ll be in the best place for anything extra he may need.. he may just be a small baby rather than small with any complications xx

He came naturally on his own at 36+6. Yeah I’m trying not to worry I know they will do what’s best for him. Have they said you will definately be induced? x

they’re giving me until next Monday to do a growth scan and then they’ll decide.. trying to be positive that he’ll grow even if he stays below the 3rd centile just to keep him in for a little longer! Xx

think of it like this: the placenta feeds and nourishes your baby, and when the placenta isn’t functioning at 100% your baby would be safer to grow on the outside with the nutrition they need. Babies are viable after 24 weeks and 35 weeks although early is safe time for baby to come

Same case as me x baby girl was measuring under 3 pounds on 32weeks scan , have a scan this Friday at 34 weeks to see if she had grown . If not they are going to give me steroids to get her lungs ready for early arrival around 36/37 weeks . My first son was 6 pounds 6oz so quite small too x born at 39 weeks . Cord is working as it should but they are worried the placenta is not . And on top of that I had 2 courses of antibiotics in the last month - one for pneumonia, another for UTi . This weekend I had bad food poisoning so haven’t eaten in 3 days and I’m so worried about her . All these infections just added up with her not putting on weight 😭

Same here, he’s between the second and fourth centiles (until a couple of weeks ago his measurements were 23rd-55th centile so there’s been a big drop). I’m at 32 weeks. I think as long as all the baby’s/cord blood flow is fine they’ll keep them in until 37 weeks and if that changes at any point or you get pre-eclampsia it’s a very quick induction or c section (if the baby is too little to withstand the stress of labour!)
Make sure you advocate for yourself and as much monitoring as possible. Stressful time for all of us going through this - I wasn’t happy with my hospital so I’m getting extra private scans/appointments too to try and assuage some of the anxiety!

I haven’t had a 32 week growth scan ?? Should I be asking for one? 34 weeks now

they only give them if there is a concern x I had scans every 2 weeks since 12 weeks due to being high risk of miscarriages and preterm labour . In total I think I had around 12 scans already🫠 if they measured your bump and your health is good overall no need for growth scans x

Also 32 weeks with similar, I have a growth scan every two weeks and between them a scan to check blood flow, cord, placenta etc. Hoping that as she’s growing (just below 5th percentile) that I’ll be able to go as close to full term as possible. The midwife was telling me that the new practice is to delay induction if baby is showing steady growth even if they are on the smaller side

interesting. I’ve had my fair share of miscarriages, I was on the recurrent miscarriage clinic but that ends at 16 weeks. I also have low anterior placenta with low marginal cord insertion, with high likelihood of needing a c-section. It feels like forever since I’ve been scanned, I don’t know how big baby is but many people say I don’t look 34 weeks and I do feel small. 2 more weeks until my next scan x
