Nontoxic/unscented laundry detergent

Can anyone reccomend a nontoxic unscented detergent? I think my son is reacting to the Tide we use. He’s got this bumpy rash on his torso and his ankles have a dry rash.

They have detergents for babies

Try dreft!

Use free and clear

any recommendations? I’d rather just make the change for the whole household because I wash everything together. Less loads that way.

I used deft for all of our clothes ! It’s labeled for “babies” but it cleaned my clothes too! It’s non-scented, so I figured that might as well use it on our clothes also. It works for us too!

I’m trying now a detergent from tide called tide free and gentle

Fairy non-bio

u can really use that for everything.

Anything hypoallergenic really

I disagree on dreft. It actually has tons of chemicals in it. Try “All free and clear” it’s the only thing we use

EWG ratings are awful for dreft! Take this as a PSA https://www.ewg.org/cleaners/products/6112-DreftStage1NewbornBabyLiquidLaundryDetergent/

Branch basics, Molly suds, attitude

Borax is great, powdered and all natural.

The brand Sonnet has laundry liquid. That’s all I use, there’s so much green washing out there that brands can label ‘natural’ but still have tons of chemicals

Dreft!!

I used Arm and Hammer Sensitive Skin for my first born for the first year or so. We only use Arm and Hammer brand. I’m now pregnant with baby #2 and will be going back to the sensitive skin detergent.

Avatar

We use fairy non bio

Avatar

Use Tide free and clear

Avatar

I think the arm and hammer baking soda brand detergent works well is cheaper than tide and I think they have free of scents version

Avatar

lol I know! My husband loves it so I haven’t changed it out

Avatar

Do not use dreft!!! Molly suds is great :)

Avatar

Dr bronners liquid Castile soap. Can use it for so many things including detergent

Avatar

so surprised how many people are backing dreft and we are over here like don’t.use. Lol

Avatar

I’ve never had any issues with derft

Avatar

glad to hear it, but the ingredients are pretty awful and it gets an F for healthy ingredients per EWG so if baby has a rash this mom should avoid it just in case. I try to use clean products on my family as I have sensitive skin so I don’t know if that could pass down to my kids.

Avatar

haha i understand, mine wouldnt even know if i change our detergent 😂

Avatar

I had no idea!!!

Avatar

I know right? Sadly there’s so many bad ingredients in baby products and “sensitive” skin products it’s awful! But dreft smells so good lol I found out because my daughter got a rash then googled it and switched to All Free and Clear

Avatar

All free and clear works for us.

Avatar

Free and clear ! We use the pods and it works wonderfully gentle

Fairy is the best!

All free and clear works for the entire family.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂

Bedtime holding

For those who hold their baby to get them to sleep, how long are you holding them before putting them down? I’m currently struggling with this because if I put my LO down before the next sleep cycle starts, he will most often need resettling 30-40 mins later to connect to the next sleep cycle so I’m finding it easier to hold him for the entire first sleep cycle until he connects to his second cycle as sometimes resettling is a pain. This means I’m holding him for around 50 mins before putting him down. This isn’t sustainable as it’s eating into so much of my evening. Any tips? Should I get put him down as soon as he sleeps and bear the resetting bit and is it normal for babies to wake up 30-40 mins later after putting them down for night time sleep?

Just for context my baby is about the turn 5 months so I know it’s developmentally appropriate for them to wake up 30-40 mins after nap / daytime sleep but is this also meant to happen for night time sleep? Could it also be a problem linked to false start?
