I am 32 weeks. We had a name set since August and we LOVED it. A family member that is local and we do a lot together just had their baby and they have used the name we have been set on and loved. We just don’t know what to do. No other name sounds right now. I know I could wait to see what the baby looks like but I feel like our chosen name has been taken away from me so I feel the need to know a name now. Sooo gutted. Please help with name suggestions

Keep the name you picked! You'll regret changing it. Loads of people have the same names and he is your son, not theirs☺️ It doesn't matter if they have the same name, explain when he's here that you had that name picked out and were set on it before they announced💙

Keep the name! Youll probably get new mom friends in the future and stop doing as many activities with the family member then regret you never picked the name you wanted for him, or it just means that one of the little boys will have a nickname when they're together 😆
My 2 best friends in high school had exactly the same first and last names 🤣

Looking at it from the other angle, if someone picked the name I'd chosen and named their baby before mine was born, I'd see it as a compliment. It must be a great name 😀

Did they know your chosen name or was it a coincidence? If 6 a family member, I find it harder to have the same name but depends on how close you are. My brother is named Leeroy, our cousin called his boy Leeroy too but they are not close. My dad didn't like it at first lol.
What's the name to give you similar suggestions

I had this happen to me by a cousin I have never met but spoke to online regularly, she was due 3 days after me and we discussed names she wanted Georgina and I wanted Grace (over 10years ago now) she ended up going in to labour before me and the morning I was having my little girl she announced her baby Grace, I was so gutted as she was only Person that really knew what we were calling her, I had personalised bits and never had a different name as it was a family name on my mothers side (she was dad side) so in labour I renamed her to Bryony which was a testament to my grandfather Brian and actually it suits her so much better couldn’t imagine her being a Grace now at all!! 💖💖

This happened to us by pure coincidence in April, my brother in law used the boys name i have wanted for years. After a lot of tears we have gone for a different name. Mainly because both children would have the same first name and surname and their dads are brothers, it was just too close for us. Most people encouraged me to use the name anyway but I couldn’t do it.

Damn ....what was the name ?! ......I feel like everybody and they momma named there son Kaden after me cuz all of a sudden Kaden is popular 🤣 ....it happens that's why it's best not to tell anybody u gotta keep stuff like that to ur self

Did they know you were gonna use it or did it just happen to be the same
