My baby is 5 months and does this, exactly the same. I’m constantly moving her, sorry I don’t have any advice. It must be comforting
Yeah our baby used to do this, same as Kirstie ours had a slight tilt in it. I put thick socks under the mattress at the side that was tilting and solved the problem
We got a different one that doesn’t rock because of this. It’s like if he wasn’t exactly in the middle of it he would roll to one side. Keeping his arms out when swaddled did help though. Shoulders helped stabilize him a bit better
Check the bed is level.
It could be that there's a slight tilt to that side of the next to me, it happened to ours when he first went into it we'd put him to sleep in the middle he'd like roll to the side and be squashed against it, i woke up one night to him right up against it and checked with a bottle of water and realised the tilt was the issue. I just rolled up a blanket and put it under that side of the nest to me and it leveled it out perfectly! c
I think the best solution would be to have a completely mesh bassinet. My sons bassinet is completely mesh all the way around and although he doesn’t wiggle around, I’d feel comfortable even if his face was smooshed because it’s mesh the entire ways
It might be the crib. There's one that quite often is slanted and lots of people have said their babies do this. I'll try to find which one it is.. Edit: it's the Tutti Bambini Cozee, apparently it's a travel crib but marketed as a bedside crib. There are straps underneath, if you search 'tutti bedside crib tilting' on tiktok there's a video to show how to adjust them.
My toddler still does it sometimes
I think it’s comforting, because when my baby sleeps with me she comes as close to me as possible and likes to cover her face literally. Nothing to worry about, as long as the side of the bassinet is mesh and your baby can breath properly should be fine
You can also put a blanket on each of the sides so it creates some sort of curve om the edges so if your baby tries to do it again it will basically roll her back to the middle
Question - at 5/6 months is swaddling still allowed? I’d LOVE to be still swaddling my LO (self soothing/chewing his hands keeps him awake!) But i read somewhere that it’s not recommended after 4 months?? X
I had this problem with one of my kids. I ended up moving her into her crib sooner than I wanted to. It turns out she really just wanted some extra space. She started sleeping so much better in the crib.
@Dollie no its dangerous at that age as if they roll over they won't have arms available to move them selves and turn their head
@B.A I wouldn't recommend raising the sides of the mattress, safe sleep guidelines say the mattress must be flat. This would go against safe sleep guidelines

@Charley I thought so! Thanks
Our baby would always snuggle into the side of the bassinet too. I think she just liked having something touching her head while she slept. If the side of the bassinet is mesh like one we had, baby should be okay. You’re not alone for worrying about this!!
My 1 month old does this sometimes because there is a lean in the bassinet. The bedside bassinets are made to be strapped to the bed in bedside mode, so it has a slight tilt. If you strap it to the bed I bet it’d solve the problem!

I agree with the others, check to make sure it’s level and maybe put some books underneath one side so that she can’t easily make her way back to it
My LO kept doing this. We found the next to me mattress was tilted which caused her to move to the side. I would check to see if there are any straps under the mattress to tighten to stop it happening otherwise maybe it could be a fault with the crib? As they shouldn’t tilt
My baby does the same thing because the crib tilts I put a hanger with something heavy on the opposite side so he doesn’t roll into the side
Mine did it sometimes but he moved a lot in his sleep. He was never swaddled and slept on his side I would just move him if it was during the day or just monitor him
@Dollie you can swaddle as long as they arnt rolling over from back to stomach is what her pediatrician told me
Yes my little one uses to do this, we also found the the mattress/ next to me crib used to tilt every so slightly pushing them into the side
