Formula needed is lower than prep machine 4oz

The way I done it with my little one. Wait for the hot shot. Put formula inside and give it a little mix. Then put it under the machine again and wait for it to hit 3oz and then press the button for it to stop. Always check it’s not too hot. If it is run it under cold water.

I’ve just been using it and getting rid of whatever she doesn’t drink but my health visitor told me before I give her the bottle I can tip 2oz (or any amount) into another sterilised bottle and pop it into the fridge and use it for her next feed as it’s ok to store in the fridge xx

Split in 2 bottles, it will keep 24hrs in the fridge and just warm up in a pot of boiling water

I always just made the bottle up and let him stop when he was finished, it’s an easy way of seeing when they are going up an oz and some feeds they maybe hungrier then others, easier to loose an oz then have to make another bottle and loose 3 oz + 🙂

can you reheat though that’s all I’m worried about?

that's actually a good point that I didn't think of, I'm not 100% sure. My friend used to make all her bottles for the day on a morning using the hot shot method, put them in the fridge and then reheat as needed.

I’d recommend a rapid cool, make it on the go to temp as needed

hey lovely, I just wanted to say that this method doesn’t work ☹️ although great idea in theory, when the formula is added to the water, it should be over 3oz as the formula bulks up the water volume so it should always be over 3oz.

I would suggest until baby is having 4oz, either make 4oz bottles which is annoying to waste 1oz, or use the hot shot method and a nuby rapid cool? X

We use flasks of hot water - so I pour boiling water in a flask and then pour the water in first, and then add the powder after.. you can make as much or as little as you want this way.. to cool it down run the bottle under cold water until it’s the right temp, for 3oz it shouldn’t take long to cool it down x
