Hi, can anyone tell me whether my partner will be allowed to stay overnight in hospital with me after I have the baby? I am due in January and will be having a planned c-section. Thanks

Yes they can stay with you (just on a chair) but at least they’re there!

Only if your in a private room if you go back onto a ward they can’t stay overnight

yeah they can! also my husband stayed overnight on the ward when i gave birth in october. with my first he had to go home, but apparently that was because of covid rules!

mine could, totally normal delivery!

yes my partner was allowed to stay with me on the mat base ward for both nights I was in x

I seen somewhere about taking a camping bed for your partner just one that can be folded down and I wish I’d seen it before I went in , clever idea surely got to be more comfy than a chair x

I had a section and my partner wasn’t allowed to stay afterwards, he had to leave when visiting hours were over. Even though I was still out of it after the surgery and had catheter and IV drip still attached. But because I had been moved from recovery to the ward he wasn’t allowed to stay.
He then wasn’t allowed back the next day until visiting hours.

when did you have your baby? I can’t see why they would let some stay and not others , I had my baby in august and it was fine he was never told he had to leave :/ x

I gave birth in Whiston and my partner was not allowed to stay

I had a section three weeks ago in the Womens and mg husband was allowed to stay and we were on a ward. He slept on the chair, only your birth partner is allowed to stay.

I had my baby in September and my husband was allowed to stay. He did only get a chair but it was a recliner and he said it wasn’t too bad! Everyone on the ward had someone staying over so don’t think it makes a difference what type of birth you’ve had x

two years ago i had my section and he wasnt allowed to stay over night 😩 sounds like it may have changed though

I had a consultant appointment recently as have a planned section booked for January at the women’s and was told hubby can stay and be with us 24 hours a day. He won’t be asked to leave etc.

I had my baby mid December there and I was in for 5 days and my partner was allowed to stay for all of it 😊

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Little girl turning herself sideways in next to me

My little girl tonight, has spun herself so she is lying sideways in her next to me, making me panic!

Is this normal at 4.5 months, do I just lie her back normally/vertically?

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Ways to induce labor naturally

Hi All! FTM, Entering week 40 and no signs of labor, no dilation yet. Please share tips and ways to induce natural labor. Induction is already scheduled on week 41 but don’t want to go through that process.

Caffeine addiction suuucks. (Coffee)

I'm off of literally everything. Don't smoke, no medicine, don't drink except VERY rare occasion, nothing. I drink a large coffee everyday (usually mcdonalds or 7 brew)... or a couple cups of coffee at home if I don't get out. Today I had neither and I was OUT FOR THE COUNT. Awful headache, no motivation, throwing up. Then I drink coffee and it's instantly better. 🙃 coffee is one hell of a drug I tell ya.

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
