Is silent labor really a thing and has anyone had it?

Yess I didn't have anything for 7 hours just lost mucus plug and had contractions 7 hours after

Not really sure what silent labor is but I was 4cm dilated with no pain or anything. I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for the sweep I was booked in for!

@Rhiannon I never dilated after my waters breaking x they had to put me on hormone drip to get me going

did they break your waters?

@Rhiannon I lost my mucus plug with a small amount of waters so they had to break them cud I only lost a lil bit of my waters x

I had a semi silent labour until I went into hospital as I was due to be induced as my waters had gone 24 hours before. I was 6cm and didnt know, until I was told my forewaters hadnt gone and when the midwife popped them, then the pains were immediate.

I lost my mucus plug 2 days before going into labour but I didn’t know I was in labour I started getting twinges at 3 in the morning on a Saturday just thought nothing of it tbh then I went to hospital at like 10ish at night then was checked at 12ish and was 4cm dilated then had my little one at 4:46 the next morning

You can dilated with little to no pain (if that's what you mean by silent labour?) That's quite a common thing.

I was induced and only felt contractions when I was 10cm and ready to push

Yes, my waters went at 4:30am. Nothing happened for an hour then I had a backache, then I felt like I needed to poop and whilst sitting on the toilet my body just pushed. We rushed to the hospital and arrived 15 minutes before baby was born at 08:50. That was my first pregnancy so a precipitous and silent labour. I did not feel a single contraction.
