2nd Birthday 🎉

Mine is also turning 2. We don’t have our family in Canada so we will invite the most closest friends and do something small

My fiancée and I decided to quit having birthday parties. We instead let the child choose an activity they want to do and somewhere to eat out. We took one of the kiddos sled riding and to red lobster (both her choice) and she said it was the best birthday ever. Really takes a lot of stress of us parents too! And saves money generally since you don’t have to entertain a lot of people and provide food. Plus I feel a lot of people probably really dread kid parties 🫣

We are going to go to the aquarium and then a small family dinner on his actual birthday.

Doing a big party since we didnt do one on his first since we traveled last year. We invited all his daycare classmates

I'm also in the same boat. I wanna do a big party but we barely have friends here and no family. And it will be all about us not him. Hosting adults with a few kids. That's why thinking of keeping it just us and taking him to a good play area, eating out and cutting cake at home.
We did a grand celebration on his first back home but my husband was here in Canada so it will be his first time to celebrate our son's birthday together. I want that to be special and more meaningful.

Don't think you have to go all out for 2 or any age for that matter, just do what feels right for you and your family. My little one is turning 2 on Monday and we are just doing an at home party this year still, friends their kids and family. I blew up our kiddie pool from the summer and filled it with ball pit balls, doing an easy donut decorating station and got that fabric that turns dark when wet for water painting (yay no mess). Figured that was good enough. Sheet cake from Costco, party pizza from Mr grande, some chippies and good to go! Haha I'm definitely toning it down a lot from last year, but her first was special.
