Pram/doona car seat stroller

Hello,
This is our first baby & I’ve heard great things about the doona car seat stroller. Would I also need a pram for longer walks? Or is it easy enough to move baby from car seat to pram?

I've got the donna carseat/pram its the best! So easy to use and don't have to take them out when getting in and out the car

The doona was pricey but it was so great. I can't imagine doing the early part of parenthood without it. It gives so much ease and therefore confidence when you're first learning to go out with the baby. I traveled with her, just me and her at 6 months. We took an Uber together. So grateful to it for those experiences.

It’s very good. It converts from a pram to car seat with a few different clicks. Very efficient and also worth the money. It doesn’t lose its value.

They can’t stay in the car seat for longer than 30mins then 2hours as they get older. They need to lie down. It’s not the best safety wise either sadly. Too many people are leaving their babies in the car seat whilst they do a shop forgetting that it took them etc 15mins to drive to the shop then 45mins to do a shop then 15mins back home and if asleep then leaving them in it as they unpack the shopping.
I’d highly recommend joining an extended rear facing group on Facebook for the best advice on car seats.

I’ve had the doona for both of my kids. I highly recommend. It’s very convenient especially for when you have a baby. The only thing is the weight limit is 35lbs so around like 1-1.5 yrs old you’ll need to upgrade to a bigger car seat and a new stroller. We just got a nuna car seat and a travel stroller since we travel often.

I looked into the Doona recently but read that the baby can’t stay in it longer than 2 hours, and it’s quite small, I think the max baby length is 32”. I have a tall/long baby… if I extrapolate his height using the WHO length charts he’d outgrow the Doona at 9 months. So I decided not to get one.

We were looking at the doona originally, but as it’s a car seat it’s not recommended to stay in it for more than 30mins approx. However I believe the newer version - think it’s called Doona X - fully reclines so is more suitable for longer journeys (not 100% sure on the recommended length of time though) but might be worth looking into the newer version instead xxx

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!
