Underwear after birth?!

Hello! First time mum, and I’m not sure what kind of underwear to wear after giving birth! I’ve bought some maternity pads, but I’ve also heard that bleeding can be really heavy, so like adult nappies are a good option? I can only find ones for incontinence though, so I’m not sure if they would do the job at absorbing anything! Ugh, there’s so much to think about! Any suggestions/advice would be good! Thank you! x

Last time I got the high waist disposable ones from Freida and put a sanitary pad in it. Then I swapped to high waisted black knickers once the bleeding got more like a period with a pad stuck in. I used the hospital adult nappies for the first day or so

Last time I used period knickers that I already had which a big old Bridget jones pants and put maternity pads in for extra protection. Anything that’s comfortable, easy to wash or bin with lots of coverage is my suggestion x

These are amazing from Amazon , really thick and wide. At no point did I feel like they would leak. There much bigger and better from the ones I brought in boots

Tesco do disposable maternity pants which I used in the first week - bloody fabulous! Then just sized up in big knickers for the rest. Both with big pads - lil lets maternity pads I found the best x

I really didn’t get on with the adult nappy maternity type things. I had stitches from tearing and the stitches felt like they constantly were catching on them.

I love love loved the lil lets maternity pads (with wings) they were so soft and paired them with primark briefs. Think you can get a 4 pack for £4ish.

The nappy’s are so much more money too and I was advised to change often to prevent any infection so it just would have become quite ££

Everyone is so different though so maybe grab a pack of different ones so you have things to play around with when you’re in hospital. Then you can be comfortable with what works for you x

Last time I took my big maternity knickers (the ones from Tu are really good) and then used the biggest sanitary pads I could find (might have been incontinence pads actually). Black ones.

I just wore big briefs in a few sizes too large and then used maternity pads (boots or Sainsbury’s own were the best). Will be doing the same again this time 😊

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
