Hello gals,
I am 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and 3 days back I had a general appointment with primary doctor. Soo i just went as a general checkup. Knowing that I Am pregnant she wrote just few tests. And tsh level ( thyroid) is included in that and more more.
tsh level is 3.7 for me. In general, it can be between 1.5 -4 but, in pregnancy it should be less than 2.5 in 1st trimester. Again they suggested for tsh and t4 tests today.
Does it really effect anything? Please help with you knowledge or experiences

Yes, it does. I have hypothyroidism as it is, and mine goes higher during pregnancy, so I have to change my dosage of levothyroxine when pregnant (I always take the pill, just up the dosage). I would talk to your doctor, but you may need to start levothyroxine to keep levels in check. There is an increased chance of miscarriage and other problems with higher levels.

Not to frighten you but your thyroid levels are very important in the first trimester, ensuring they’re in range and stable. Please speak to your primary dr about the results so that they can give you any relevant medication to ensure that this pregnancy continues as safely as possible ❤️
