Where have we all got our little ones feat measured? I’ve heard Clarks is awful so I wanted to avoid there, also best place for shoes that aren’t extortionate I have twins to buy for 🤣🥲

Why is clarks awful? We used clarks 😳 x

Avatar

We went to Clark's twice already. Both times they measured him a bit lower than what actually fit - this is what we're doing, trying the shoes on him to see what fits, as different models of the same size will fit differently if that makes sense?

Avatar

Oh and you can buy a measurement thing like the ones they have at Clarks for around £5-10

Avatar

I always had a positive experience at Clark’s with my eldest 🤷🏻‍♀️ You don’t have to buy their shoes if you don’t want to either, get measured, try on some to see what you like and go elsewhere.
Or, measure at home?

Avatar

I used clarks for my son. No issues at all, his feet got measured properly but we chose to get shoes from start rite

I have tried Matalan, next etc. but not great as they’re too rigid. I managed to find some from Asda that are barefoot style (flexible sole, wide toe box). They were £7 each. It’s a canvas t-bar floral design. So far, so good!

I used Clark’s with my eldest but began using the Kids Foot Measure at home about 2 years ago with all my girls ☺️

Avatar

Yeah we use Clark’s but I measure at home and buy from Vinted. Most shoes are basically new and around £5

Avatar

He does also have fun shoes for occasional wearing like vans and adidas all from Vinted so mega cheap

Avatar

Go to sketchers there really good Clark’s never really liked doing my boys because he was fidgety etc x

Avatar

Also sketcher shoes is the best if they have flat feet etc my boy is wearing them just plain black trainers the light weight ones and he don’t pull them off or anything other shoes he does also got them in the sale for £30 a pair

Avatar

We got Clark’s for our little girl and they are the best shoes she walks in! Fit lovely as well! Also the sale rack is brill there, especially if buying two lots! Xx

Avatar

I wouldn’t do that. The shoe molds to the feet and if another kid uses the shoe it can deform the kids feet.

Avatar

no matter how lightly used they are they still got the shape of another kids feet and can deform the feet of your little one. Is up to each mom if they want to take the risk or not, but I’m handing the info as not many people know about it. Baby’s feet bones are not solidified yet and they are very easy to mold.
Bear in mind I’m all for buy things second hand (almost everything I buy second hand) but there is things that shouldn’t be reused.

Avatar

🤪🤪 it was only a matter of time before the police caught me! They’ll easily catch my son with his deformed feet 🦶

Avatar

aw cool, well don’t do it then :)

Avatar

I wouldn’t pay any attention to people do what you feel best shoes cant deform feet if your feet is going to be like it they’ll be like it my 1 year old barley leave a shoe on his feet and he has flat feet he’s basically bare foot all the time so it isn’t shoes that causes issues with feet then my baby also has feet problems I do too so I wouldn’t pay attention to people if you want to buy used do it I got some used ones for my boy as I’ve been paying shop prices for him not to even wear them so been getting a few cheap pairs of used x

Avatar

thanks! sad there is so much scaremongering in parenthood! As if we don’t have enough to be anxious about. I’m content with my decisions, if others want to buy brand new all the time good for them! X

Avatar

listen if you want to take it the wrong way do it, I just meant to inform you that it could happen in case you didn’t know , but is up to you as I said. And in any moment I said your son had deformed feet.

Avatar

there’s no problem here. Maybe just save your advice/ information for the people asking for it as it’ll probably land better.

Avatar

I give the info so people who don’t know about it can be aware (otherwise how would they know) is up to them to take it or leave it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t really care if they like it or not/ take it or not, I just do my duty to inform as I would hope/wish someone did the same if I was doing something that it could have repercussions on my kids, after that everyone to their own.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂

No more naps! 10 month old

For a few days now my 10m old has fought her 2 daily naps. Normally her wake windows were 3-4 hours and she is now eventually napping after a 6 hour wake window. Today was only one nap, she skipped the second one. Used to nap like clockwork so I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Also very unsettled most nights and doesn’t sleep well at all
