Is it normal to feel constantly tired / wanting to be horizontal to nap at this stage? I’m fighting an inner battle after midwife suggested I need to be doing things that make me happy to get the oxytocin flowing.. but I just don’t have the energy the last two days especially.
I don’t know if it’s where I spent my 39th week trying to stay super active, doing all the “old wives tales” to bring on labour, and now have sort of accepted that there’s no point focusing on it all because baby will come when she’s ready.
Feeling guilty as I should be super excited but I feel a bit deflated.. wondering if this is normal ?

100% normal! i gave birth at 40+5 and at least 2 weeks up until then i felt so deflated. i did go on a daily walk but honestly i was no more active than that, that’s more than enough! i figured the same, baby will come when he’s ready. don’t overdo it and if you don’t have the energy then that’s fine and listen to your body. mong out on the sofa all you need.
for what the midwife said, in my opinion is a little unfair i think. you don’t have to drain yourself even more than you have been for the last 9 months to give birth. even without being active they’ll still come!
save some energy for labour and the next chapter (pack some lucozade in hospital bag!) congratulations in advance 🥰

You can still get the oxytocin flowing without doing high energy stuff. Just cwtching up on the sofa watching your favourite box sets, listening to your favourite music, spending time with your partner/friends all helps. Take it easy and look after yourself x

I'm feeling like this at 36 + 2 days. Can barely move - it came on yesterday. Just feel like I need to constantly nap.

omg I feel the same i’m 40 weeks now, I thought was just me 🥲

HAVE A NAP ❤️
My LO came at 42wks exactly and I was exhausted 24/7
