Elective c section booking

I’m 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I messaged my midwife to say I would like an elective c section yesterday and asked how we go about this..

She replied to say, wait for my next hospital appointment ( that’s in 3 and a half weeks time) and see what they say from there.. as I’m still very early on in my pregnancy??

Which will be Making me then 33 +4 weeks pregnant.

Is this normal?

Yes. I waited until 36/37 weeks to discuss my options. They usually do this so the baby is full term so they can usually breath by themselves. Obviously every hospital is different. Just wait until then and see what they’ve got to say. You may have to wait a bit longer unless you have medical issues then they’ll want to get the baby out asap

Hiya, I had a planned c section in Northampton and they didn’t give me an appointment until 37 weeks pregnant and I was booked in for my c section at 39 weeks!

I know it’s a different hospital but they may book later like mine do ☺️ x

I had an appointment with a consultant last week where I was 29 weeks and booked in for my date at 39 weeks and my pre op at 38+6

It's normal I had a c section at 39 weeks. They want to make sure baby is full term and fully developed and able to breathe on it's own.

Yes normally that’s not discussed until your 36 week appointment

I didn’t ask for mine until 35 weeks and my midwife told me she couldn’t book it for me but she left a note on my notes that I am looking to get one. I then had to wait for my telephone appointment and told them what I wanted then it was booked for 40+2 weeks

Yes I had mine booked when I was 38 weeks pregnant, because they need your baby to be full term.

I’m 38 weeks and got a call with my date yesterday 😊

Yes I was 38+5 when they gave me my date for my section which was 39+5

I’m 35+4 and was only given my date when I was 34+5

That about 4 weeks before they would normally do the csection. Yes, booking in at 33 weeks for a csection at 38/39 week is pretty normal.

Normal! I had a consultation when I was 37 weeks and got booked in for my c section then and there which I had at 39 weeks x

They wouldn’t really talk to me about mine until my 36/37 week appointment, I had mine 39 weeks.

I asked my midwife at my 30 week check up for a c section and within a few days I had a app with consultant who booked me in for 39 weeks.

Thanks everyone 🙌🏻

My midwife at the GP sent a request form to the consultant at the hospital and on my next appointment wanting to discuss reasoning of why I would want a c-section, they then proceeded to book what day my selective C-section is as they need to know in advance what day/time they need the theatre for me

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
