Tons of books! Different books and asking them where is this and what is this? Search and find books are my daughters favorite right now. I think reading more than the story helps and making fun sounds with them and reading stories in really animated ways - even fun voices help so much!

Songs with directions or movements Some of my son’s favorites are the classics bingo, old McDonald, wheels on the bus, head shoulders knees and toes, and itsy bitsy spider.
Then some others I’ve learned from Ms. Rachel are tiny turtle Tim, bubblegum song, ants marching.

One of my twins are speech delayed and these have really improved
Also being animated when doing the songs or reading books

Hi! Speech therapist here. Sing all day long. Sing directions (ex: put blocks in the bag, in the bag. Put the blocks in the bag, in the bag). Narrate what you are doing by singing (ex: mommy is washing the dishes, the dishes, mommy is washing the dishes so they can be clean). Try not to drill questions like what is this? Where is this? It does not lead to a lot of language growth. It mostly encourages pointing and 1 word answers. Read the same books over and over and once you’ve read them a lot start to pause to see if your child will fill in the missing word/words.

A little song or a poem. Repeat the same one over and over. She will start memorizing it. Also, name everything in a day that you guys are doing or looking at. Change tones.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂

No more naps! 10 month old

For a few days now my 10m old has fought her 2 daily naps. Normally her wake windows were 3-4 hours and she is now eventually napping after a 6 hour wake window. Today was only one nap, she skipped the second one. Used to nap like clockwork so I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Also very unsettled most nights and doesn’t sleep well at all
