I put my 6 week old on his back to sleep but he loves layingg on his side, I even use a prop to stop him moving so much in his sleep but no matter what I do he always ends up at the side of his bed. Any tips? Also, is it safe for him to wear the hands up swaddle suit when he's doing this?

Congrats on your baba! Babies sometimes do roll onto their side. If his bassinet isn’t on a slight slant and he’s genuinely getting himself there he’s fine to be left that way. Not sure what prop you’re using to keep him still but it might not be safe to do so. Crib should be empty!
Totally safe to wear the arms up swaddle up until he starts showing signs of rolling :)

Thanks. He favours his right side and when he was in hospital sick, they suggested a rolled up towel to guide him to sleep the other side with was what I was using to try and avoid him moving to the edge but he's so strong, he kicks off the blanket and moves anyway. I didn't like putting anything in the bed either. The swaddle actually helped a lot, I tried it last night. He also had the best sleep of his life

aww bless him my son favoured his left when he was super little! Those swaddles are a lifesaver at the beginning honestly. Glad it helped him! My HV also suggested the rolled up towel but my son didn’t care for it too much so we didn’t bother in the end!

My little one used to do the same thing. Is there mesh on the side? He should be okay, he may be looking for warmth or used to having his face near you.
