I feel as a mom I’m constantly being advertised sleep training. I’m constantly being bombarded with one side that sleep training is good. This goes against my natural instinct. I was wondering if people had different experiences?

Would never

It depends on the type. I am trying to teach my girl to fall asleep independently but I stay with her the whole time. Cry it out is bad

I personally would never. It goes against every motherly instinct I have to ignore my baby when they call for me x

I am an adult that has a hard time sleeping. How can I expect my little baby to do it on his own?

I could never do it. I am a strong believer in following your instincts.
I find other ways to optimize sleep. My baby sleeps near me and, if she is warm and comfortable, she will only wake up around 2x in the night.

i’m not totally clued up on this but from what i’ve read online the negative aspects come later on in life and emotionally for the baby/child, it’s not something you’d notice right away. either way sleep training is a no from me. if baby needs you in the night then you should be there to help them.

Where are you being bombarded?

Even the idea of it was traumatising to me. But still I tried it very briefly before I knew exactly what it was and how damaging it is and I literally lasted 8 seconds before I scooped my baby back up and comforted him. It does go completely against our natural instincts. Just know you don’t have to and there are many other ways to support your baby to sleep which are biologically normal!

This was only really a big thing in the US (before it got marketed elsewhere) as mothers go back to work very very soon. It's not really a thing elsewhere and I have no intention of ever trying it. Like others are saying it goes against our natural instincts. If my baby cries I can't imagine not comforting her.
