Dilemma

My partner broke up with me 2 weeks ago and I’m now 16 weeks pregnant.

I’m thinking of names naturally, but the family tradition on his side is that the first born boy is named after the father. It’s been the same for generations.

He’s not exactly been kind to me. I’ve kept the doors open during my pregnancy which he is closing himself (eg. Attending scans).

If it’s a boy do I name him essentially the same name as my ex? If we were together I would honour the tradition, plus he has a nice name x

I personally wouldn't. I'd be giving baby my surname too....

I agree with Gina.

I wouldn't name baby after him.

Absolutely not. Name your baby whatever YOU want.

He dumped you? Why would you honour his family tradition? He doesn’t want to be a family 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your surname too 100%

Absolutely NOT

If he's not involved don't give him his first or last name, would u want your baby to be like him? People don't change,he's shown you who he is ❤️

Avatar

If it was me- absolutely not. And I’d give the baby only my last name too

Avatar

NO WAY! Especially if he's not even trying to participate with the pregnancy, not going to any appt or anything. That's just trash, you don't need to name baby for his families tradition. Think about this, what if you do decide to do that and when you have baby he up and dissappears for good? You said he's already not really involved would you really want your son to be named after a piece of shit dad like that?

Avatar

Nope one of my friends growing up was named after his father who wasn’t in his life he hated that he carried his name and changed it

If you’re not together anymore then his family’s tradition doesn’t truly apply. Name him what you wish.

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
