Baby Julian Arrived
Birth story
My waters went on my due date (4th April) at 4pm. It was just a trickle and after second guessing it for a while I went into triage to get it checked. Annoyingly I'd been in the hospital that day for my BP profile as it started to creep up and I needed to go in for monitoring every other day. Triage confirmed they had gone but also that it had muconium in it so they took us straight to a birthing room to be induced. After an internal exam and popping the last bubble of my waters I started contracting pretty significantly so didn't need the drip in the end. After 2 hours of intense contractions I asked for the epidural which was a bit of an ordeal as I have scoliosis so took a few tries unfortunately but finally got it to work. After the epidural his heart rate started to climb and wouldn't go back down. That coupled with the muconium showed signs that baby was in distress and the only option was to get baby out soon so it ended up in an emergency C-section at 4.08am on 6th April. The C-section was calm and everyone was so lovely. It was found that the placenta was infected and I had sepsis and so we have been in the hospital since. Hopefully getting home today.
