Due 23/4/25 and only just been given my date after endless chasing… they had no spaces so literally booked me date before my due date and got me on a waiting list for earlier…. Been a nightmare as NHS is at capacity.

3 weeks before. My baby was due on the 04/06/2024 and he was delivered by c section on the 14/05/2024. ☺️

@Leah That's terrible, is it for medical reasons or elective?

@Courtney wow I didn't know they could book that early. I'm hoping I get a date as close to 39 weeks as possible, I'm scared to go into labour whilst he's in the position he is

Honestly they will make sure your baby is all okay before they do the c section. So do not worry. But usually if they do an opted c section for medical reasons it is 37 weeks. I am a type two diabetic.

@Courtney oh wow 37 weeks is the day before my appointment to book in the section because they had no availability for that. Hopefully they still have a slot available for us at 39 weeks, he's currently breech with feet by his head and they don't think he has space to turn in 2 weeks I hope yours goes really smooth and you have a lovely experience

Medical reasons and you still get put on back burner …..

First time 34w Second time 13w (April 23 and December 24. Both at Jimmy's. Both at 39 +1)

@Leah that's shocking makes me very nervous

@Anna is that when you said you wanted one the first 2 dates?

I’m due 22/04 so I’m 39 weeks next week and still waiting for a date 🥲 may chase it up given what Leah has said above

@Leah what hospital are you with?x

We only booked my c section at 37 weeks as i wasn’t having one til he turned breech at 36 weeks, it was booked for the day i turned 39 weeks

I was with LGI but there over capacity so decided to take it upon themselves to move me to st James which I’m not please about.

It took me over 5 days of chasing to finally recieve any kind of response.

@Leah oh interesting! I’m with LGI as well and my due date is the day before yours I wonder if they’re going to move me as well 😬 I’ve tried to call them to chase but just keep getting user busy!

I’ve been with LGI for everything, had a complaint ongoing with st James due to my 1st pregnancy and complication. Out of curiosity is your section for medical reasons or an opted section? That will make a difference when and if you get a date.

Yeah it’s very poor that they didn’t even tell you they were moving you 🥲 mine is elected due to anxiety & been 4ft11 (midwife said I may struggle naturally) have also now started with reduced movements, so aware that I don’t take priority but obviously you’re still entitled to have one so just want to know

100% it’s because there both leeds so classed as 1 hospital in 2 locations. I only received a space because 1 lady went into labour early. It’s obvs worse due to bank holidays but not helpful for us lady’s all due around then

Gosh, that was lucky glad they managed to fit you in and hope everything goes all ok for you 🩵🩵 sorry one last question - when you rang to chase did you call the normal appointment line and get patched through? It’s the only number I can find

Exactly 39 weeks .

I’ve finally been booked in, but for 41 weeks 😅

@Liv 41 weeks!!! How is that possible. I'm so nervous now, I need booking in before 40 weeks to avoid labour or I'll be having an emergency section 😭

No I have a consultant who I can make contact with due to medical reasons, it takes a lot to get through to anyone tbh.

Aw please don’t be nervous 🩵 mine is classed as maternal reasons so I don’t take priority. I’m sure if you’re having yours for medical reasons etc they will defo prioritise you! Xx

Could you not try your midwife and see if she can give you a number to call? Or make note on their system

@Liv oh gosh I really hope so I'm already so scared to go into labour before 39 weeks. I'm confused how my bump has dropped when he's Frank breech and can't come out that way Will they now put you down for a cancellation list or anything? 41 weeks doesn't seem right at all

I would hope that if he’s breech they won’t let you go over anyway! But I would just express your concerns as much as you can to your midwife. Yeah they have put me on a waiting list! My consultant put on my notes that I could have it from 39-41 weeks so that’s why, but it’s still very late!
