Membrane sweep

Hey ladies, I’m 38 weeks and 4 days today, and my doctor performed a membrane sweep, which was a bit painful, not gonna lie. I’m a first-time mom, and he mentioned I’m 3 centimeters dilated. I’m curious if anyone has had positive experiences with this—did it help prepare you for labor before an elective induction? Also, are there any things I can try to encourage my baby to come naturally? I haven’t felt any cramps or anything yet. I’m just really ready to meet her, this past week has been a bit tough.

I am getting mine today, 39 plus 2, will keep you posted

Following I’m 37+1 and my doctor offered me one next week. I have had cramps though and started evening primrose oil (orally. As per my doctors permission on Monday and feel like that has helped me start the cramping) red raspberry leaf tea. She also recommended the dates but I can’t stand them so have to choke them down 😂

37+3 and I’m dilated to a 2 1/2 not quite a 3 yet. Dr said we will perform a membrane sweep next week. This is my second baby but I went into labor naturally with my first. Do t know what to expect with a membrane sweep.

I had my 38 week appointment today and went ahead and asked her the statistics of how successful it is as it’s a whopping 14% 😂 I said no thanks then because I’ve read it can cause the labor pains without any progression. She wouldn’t have done it on me anyways today as I’m only a finger tip dilated 😩 but I think everyone’s experience with this is so different but try sitting on a ball if you haven’t gotten one already it’s supposed to loosen your hips and help baby get engaged best of luck 🫶🏼

I had one yesterday at 40+1. I was already 4.5cm but he was still pretty high up. Did absolutely nothing. I was at 5cm when I came in for my induction this morning and she broke my water before we started pitocin. He still didn't come until almost 3pm, amidst some drama.
