@Francesca aww this gives me hope! It feels like he just gives up for a few days because he can't get the hang of it then some days he's giving it his all. Hopefully won't take much longer. And my son is a very chunky one too so possibly having a hard time bearing weight on his arms. Is there any activities you did with him to practice?
Same with my LB. He was also getting so frustrated because he just couldn’t work out how to go forward. I just did lots of tummy time and tried getting him up on his knees when he was rocking. But then he would faceplant 😂 I also crawled around the floor like an mad woman so he could watch how I did it lol not sure any of it worked as I think they do just figure it out themselves.
Yeah mine did all these and then did a lot of planks just before starting to crawl. It probably took about a month from being in crawling position to actually doing it
Mine dragged herself along the floor like that creature from the ring 😂😂
the signs for my LG was rocking on hands and knees and like crawling with no arms if that makes sense? she’s always had weaker arms so she would lay on the floor and tuck her legs under to crawl. but she also did all the stuff you mentioned so could be that your LO won’t be far off! x
she also dragged herself and pulled things like our rug (it’s got long fluffy fur so she could grip) to slide along x
Yesss sounds like he’s heading in the right direction for sure! Mine had no interest in crawling at all, just wanted to walk and then one day he suddenly liked being on his front and was trying, then he started getting on one knee with one leg up, he started shuffling backwards and now he can crawl slowly with effort still but they all get there!
My LB was the same. He was showing signs of crawling from 6 months and just started fully crawling at 8.5 months. He was going backwards, pivoting in circles and rocking. He then after a while started stretching out one leg whilst getting up on his knee with the other leg. I kept saying that this is taking ages as he just couldn’t work out how to go forward. Then one morning, he started doing these like frog leaps forwards, then after a day or two was fully crawling. All up it took us around 2.5 months. My LB is heavier than average boys, so I think it took longer for him to build up the strength in his arms etc. I’d say it won’t be much longer and your LO will start to move forward.
