I need some guidance

I had a membrane sweep yesterday and experienced some cramping afterward. This morning, I noticed what looked like brownish mucus coming out, along with a bit of cramping. Could this be a sign that labor is getting closer? I'm currently 38 weeks and 4 days, with an elective induction scheduled for 4/14. Before the sweep, I was already 3 cm dilated. Just trying to stay positive, even though I’ve heard it can still take a couple of days—or more—before baby arrives, especially with an induction!

I had a membrane sweep yesterday too! I lost my mucous plug today at exactly 39 weeks. I’m patiently waiting for labor to start. Or could be within days or hours.

Could it be bloody show?

@Rebecca yeah I think it was that

Sounds like mucous plug. Cramping can be caused even by a cervical check. I was hopeful with dilation and losing a large chunk of plug around the same time, but then no more signs and ended up waiting until I got induced yesterday.

I got a membrane sweep done today. My doctor said brown discharge is normal. I’m feeling cramping too. But not sure if I’m going into labor. Will keep you updated. I’m 38 and 1 day.

Sounds normal for after a sweep, losing mucus plug and cramping. Still no way to know when labor will start as some people start losing it right before and some can be losing bits of it for a while before! Just keep staying hydrated, nourished, and trust your body and baby that they will come when they are ready! You’ve got this!
