I had an emergency csection with my first due to labour not progressing. Monday I had a planned section with my second. I was asked by my consultant at the 32 week appointment what I wanted and when I stated a planned csection and why, there was no pushback at all. Hopefully when you come to have your second then you get no pushback as its your body, your choice. X
Yes they were pushing me for a VBAC because I got to 10cm with my first before the emergency c-section. I stuck to my guns and just said throughout the pregnancy that I was having an elective and that’s what I ended up having! So happy with the decision.
@Emma thank you this is reassuring! Congratulations on your newborn!
@Melissa oh wow that’s good to know! I’ll hope for the same improvement!
@Allie well done for sticking to it - I shall do the same!
No, I never had any issue getting my second csection abs then because I had had two csections that was is the plan from the start with my 3rd. I was fully dilated for 10 hours with my first before my csection but she wouldn't come down all the way and she was in distress.
I had my second c section two weeks ago and didn't get push back at all. I actually got a lot of reassurance and support that it would be calmer then my first (also emergency c section). I actually went into labour before my apt , I was supposed to have him at 730 so they just asked to make sure I still wanted a c section and then prepped the surgery room so I had him at 3:57 am
My sister in law asked for one the second time after an emergency c-section and usually the pushback is because of the costs - she remained consistent and she got her second c section and she said it actually improved her scar - she showed me a pic and wow ! Hardly there! Don’t be worried you have the right to choose 🫶🏻
