C-section over hang

I’m going for an elective c section and I didn’t know you can sometimes get an overhang above the scar. I was just wondering for those that has experienced this did you manage to tighten up the loose muscle/ belly if so how did you tighten ? As I am so self conscious of my body as it is x

Following my c section was almost a month ago and my overhang is really bad

I was extremely fit before c section gym 5 times a week even during my pregnancy and the overhang from my emergency section is so bad. Even 5 weeks on. I was back in my pre pregnancy clothes a week after having my first and I've had to size up this time just due to the overhang

I'm 8 months post c section and have a small overhang

I’m 5 months pp and really struggling with the overhang. I was never skinny beforehand but always felt comfortable in my body, I’m really struggling with losing it as my stomach is still completely numb

8 months and still have a significant overhang xx

Not all doom and gloom, don’t panic. I’m 2 weeks post section and whilst I have a little pouch belly still that’s going down daily. Not such over hand but a dent where the scar is yeah. I was a size 12 to start before pregnancy and put on 2 stone. I’ve lost weight quickly through pumping and probably stress as baby is in NICU. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, it will go down in time for sure xx

I’m 9 months pp and just have loads of extra skin - that bothers me more than the overhang. If I wear high waisted jeans it bunches up at the top so even if overhang is covered I get like a roll of skin at the top 🙈 I have found some good control pants that actually stop it but it take me about 10 minutes to get them on and off so they’re not suitable for everyday use. I used to have abs before baba but he was 9lb 3 so my skin just has not managed to recover the elasticity 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is what it is and I probably could do more in terms of exercise and eating to help but I lost most of the weight within weeks - it’s just skin 😬

Not everyone gets this. I don’t have it and never did after my first. I’m not 100% sure what causes it. If it’s to do with where they cut or anything. I’m currently considering another section and this is worrying me as well in case I get one this time

My doctor gave me a bit of a tummy tuck during the surgery

You can ask for one

@Danielle don’t think you can with the NHS! 🫣😂
