My son is about to turn 15 months and has started hitting and throwing tantrums. Anyone experiencing this? It’s like a new baby and I don’t know how to stop the hitting in a way he understands. I also have zero clue where he learned this but he recently started daycare so I assume that’s why

I gave my girl things to hit and drum on. We don’t hit mommy, we hit the drum, the box… or whatever.
okay any tips on what to do? What’s naughty step?
okay I will try that. It threw me completely off guard. I wasn’t sure how to deal with it
I hope we get some useful tips on this. Maybe try the drum idea Yuls mentioned. My son does it when he frustrated or we take something from him

Yes. Their feelings are big and they don’t know how to express them, so they do what they can do. Tantrum, hit, bite etc. They grow out of it as they develop more of an ability to communicate what’s up. You just have to be firm in the “we don’t bite, that’s not nice.” He’s too young for time out/the naughty step. They don’t understand it at that age.
