Maybe you all can give me some hope or recommendations about my baby because I’ve racked my brain. And maybe I just have no idea what I’m doing…
So starting around 4 weeks we started Bubs goat milk formula. Combo feeding that with breast milk because I couldn’t keep up with Mr.Milky over here.
He seemed ok. No bad reactions.
But here is what we are dealing with.
Every… day. During his “wake windows” where he is actually wide eyed he is so grumpy. Nothing pleases him. I’ll give him a bottle and sometimes he cries during it. Then will cry because he doesn’t have it. I try 5,000 positions to rock him, pat him, swaddle him, dark room, lullaby, Mozart baby music, white noise, walking around, putting in carrier. NOTHING. Soothes him. He doesn’t cry constantly more just a fuss. Then will start crying this sad cry when he gets tired of one thing. But like today. He was awake from 8am- 3? Maybe. And only slept 38minutes. I tried for hours to get him to sleep.
He is a gassy baby. Passes gas alll day almost. Maybe a little reflux symptoms? Like you can tell sometimes he regurgitates then swallows it. Not all the time though. Grunts in his sleep a lot.
Idk. But I feel so defeated. It’s so frustrating because I just want to enjoy my time with him but I feel like he’s so unhappy or hates me. lol.
I’ve talked to two Peds and they really didn’t give an answer other then over tired which makes sense. One did say to switch formulas which I did start tonight.
And I try not to overstimulate through the day. Shoot I’m afraid to make the slightest noise now so he doesn’t get over stimulation lol.
Any thoughts? Ideas. Advice. Idk. I’ve never had a baby or been around them so I’m not really sure what’s normal. 🥹🥹 help.

her baby is 7 weeks old this is terrible advice.
Sounds like baby may have silent reflux. I would push with another review with your medical practitioner. My first born had awful reflux and colic and would cry and fuss relentlessly. We used infacol but I know some babies get prescribed omeprazole.
Are you pace feeding and what teat size do you use?
Keep upright for 20-30 minutes after a feed and when particularly fussy things like running water, a bath, going outside for a walk would calm my little one.

My son HATED goat formula. I had to switch him over to regular cows milk formula and he was much happier. After feeding try sitting him up for at least 15-20 minutes. You can try putting a rolled blanket under his crib mattress/ bassinet mattress to help him while he sleeps if he has reflux. Try baby wearing when he is awake so he’s in that upright position. Make sure he burps good! You can try giving him infants mylicon to help with the gas! Also watch videos online on how to help baby fart.
Just remember the newborn phase is a fast period. It will FLY by. It’ll be okay mama.

Sounds like silent reflux maybe? Do you keep him upright for 20 mins after feeds? Also paced bottle feeding and lots of burping can help although not magic solutions. My baby was much better when he slept a bit more but still has it and sometimes struggles to sleep flat on his back, it makes him make choking noises and cry with the heartburn type discomfort.

I am pace feeding. And I use premie right now. Takes him about 20min or so to finish. I do keep him upright.
I will definitely try the water and walks. I never thought of silent reflux. I will make an appointment tomorrow. Thanks so much.

I will try that! Thank you!!
I’m hoping it’s the formula causing it. But who knows.
He is the worst burper though.. it takes me 25 min to get a burp. But I sit and get it out hahahaha.

My baby wasn't happy till 9 months when she started walk, even then she was still fussy. By 12 months it was night and day

Could be something in the formula that is upset g his stomach and causing gas. It could also be something you’re eating. It could be not enough time upright. It could be nothing at all.
I find having a long list of different things to try and distract them can help. I always find that going outside, bath time, even just washing their hands in the sink can help soothe them.
I hope things get better for you soon!

I think my biggest problem is that I can’t fix it. I always want to fix it right away and I can’t this time. So it’s just a struggle. Yes it’s frustrating listening to crying for hours on end but it’s even more frustrating knowing it’s something causing him discomfort
Thank you for the advice. I’ll try those things.

Keep a food journal of what YOU eat see if baby gets more fussy when you eat certain foods then try eliminating them it could be that you are eating something baby is not doing well with
