I was so nervous before my csection. Even though i have a history of anxiety, they wouldn't give me anything to calm my nerves before hand for fear it would cross the placenta
I had an emergency c-section and I was INCREDIBLY anxious and I asked for something to help and they gave me lorazepam in my IV. Helped a bunch!
i was super nervous before mine, but i just stuck to deep breaths and didn't take anything... tbh, i was too worried about what they’d give me at the hospital! here's what the 'Heal App' says.... "It's quite common for expectant mothers to feel nervous before a C-section, and some may consider taking medications like Benadryl or Tylenol to help with anxiety or discomfort. However, it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider before taking any medication, as they can provide guidance on what's safe and appropriate for your specific situation. Generally, Tylenol is often considered safe for pain relief during pregnancy, but Benadryl should be discussed with your doctor due to potential effects on both you and the baby. Have you been feeling particularly anxious about your upcoming C-section?
No, don’t take anything but you can ask for something from them to calm nerves. They want to know and monitor everything you’ve taken before they administer their drugs. They can offer really good things to relax you if you need it xx
