This might be a stupid question but how do I set up the next to me so that I can still get out of bed? I’m trying to be proactive and set it up in case she comes early but I get up through the night for a wee a lot and I’m not particularly mobile at this point haha so can’t crawl out of the bottom

This is exactly my situation at the moment! Sorry I don't have the answer but following to find out! 🤞x

I'd say detach it for now, there's no point in it being attached to your bed. Once you go into labour you will most likely have plenty of time to do it before you leave for the hospital. Or you can even do it after you're back with the baby x
thanks, that’s what I’m thinking but also not sure how I’d get out after my c-section either?

Ah, that is a problem! I had a c-section with my first and getting out of bed was a proper struggle even without a next to me! That said, my little one preferred sleeping in her moses basket anyway and that was a bit easier to navigate around!

Hahahahah you can’t 🤣 or I found I couldn’t and I’d had a section and it was awful! I’ve said this time, will be putting it at the bottom of the bed!! Got another section coming up, my partner can pass baby to me x

Ah, yes, I think that's what we did - the moses basket went on my partner's side until I could get up normally!
If I end up with another c-section, the next-to-me will definitely go on his side!

To be honest I’m not bothering putting the next to me up until he’s here, I had an emergency c-section with my first and it went the other side of the bed so I could get out of bed

Don't think you can. I gave up the first time around and just used it with the side up. It was on my partner side first to help and then once I recovered enough on my side.

If you have a bedside cabinet then I’d move that and then have the next to me as high as you can.
You will be able to get out of bed after the section. It will just take a bit of practice to get the technique right.
I used to get my legs to the side of the bed at the far end of the next to me and then use that to help pull myself up without using my tummy.

Personally I never had mine attached to the bed with previous babies anyway, it’s hard to get out of the bed postpartum especially. I just had it a small distance away, suppose the same you would do with a Moses basket and kept the side up as ours are mesh away so I can see baby. X
