Antidepressants while breastfeeding

Hey! I’m 3 weeks PP, I think I might be struggling with postnatal depression. I’ve previously been on antidepressants but didn’t take any during pregnancy. I’m seeking help through my midwife but have a feeling they could suggest I go back on the tablets. Has anyone taken antidepressants while breastfeeding? If so, how was your experience. I appreciate this is a sensitive subject but could really do with hearing other peoples experience of this.

Hey! I was so low during early pp that I was so close to taking them. Especially because it's so early pp that hormones are all over the place but I didn't want to add things to the mix as it's a while to potentially find the best dose etc. at about 6/8 weeks pp I felt a lot better and was glad I didn't end up taking them. But of course, some of my friends have taken them while breastfeeding and managed with it. I guess all I'm trying to say is maybe give it a bit more time if you can? But if you're struggling so much then definitely seek out the help x

Hello mama! I did take some homeopathy for PPD mine wasn’t as severe though and was manageable but yes I did feel low. Her lore in the US has some great tinctures that worked, one is called Happy Days and the other for Anxiety. I’d give that a try first. I suggest getting a lot of sun even if it’s through the windows. And something I can highly recommend is taking saffron in milk with a dash of honey/sugar. 11 strands of saffron taken daily can help reduce depression and most eastern and middle-eastern swear by it for postpartum use for this very reason. It has the same benefits as antidepressants, read up on the saffron trials, there’s enough evidence on it.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂
