4 year old tantrums

Hello everyone!
I am having a real challenge with a 4yo daughter and her tantrums.
For background, I am a single mum, with a boyfriend (we do not live together). She sees her dad on and off at the moment as he has had a baby with his new partner.

The anger has worsened in the last few weeks, and she will now outwardly punch and scream tantrums anywhere. I try my best to ground things and try and calm the situation but it seems to be getting worse.
Within this, she has started to call me stupid, lazy, greedy, and this is apparently what her dad is saying to her about me when she is there.

Does anyone have any advice on this - or has anyone gone through similar?

Thank you ♥️

I've recently come out the other side of the ferocious 4's. You need to set consistant boundaries & follow through on the consequences. Please try not to worry, you will get to the other side of this phase & its good that you are able to keep your cool & be calm during these.

Sending hugs🤗 I know how tough this time can be x

Thank you ❤️
How long did it last for? (If it's a year, please lie and say 2 months 🤣)
Did you notice any patterns on when / why it happened?x

I found it to be a mixture of needing/wanting attention & a way of my daughter expressing her emotions.

My husband & I had put it down to having a 2nd child but, when I spoke to my daughters teacher about it. She'd encouted the same issues with her only child. So I wonder if its a boundary testing/independence behavioural development thing as well.

I found that there was a peak in the behaviour & started to improve. Maybe it lasted about 6months?🤷🏼‍♀️ Since my daughter turned 5, I still have similar behaviours every now & again but its short lived.

I've restricted my daughters sugar intake & screen time (not that she had that much to begin with). As well as trying to get her outdoors to play a lot more, it all seems to help.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂

Bedtime holding

For those who hold their baby to get them to sleep, how long are you holding them before putting them down? I’m currently struggling with this because if I put my LO down before the next sleep cycle starts, he will most often need resettling 30-40 mins later to connect to the next sleep cycle so I’m finding it easier to hold him for the entire first sleep cycle until he connects to his second cycle as sometimes resettling is a pain. This means I’m holding him for around 50 mins before putting him down. This isn’t sustainable as it’s eating into so much of my evening. Any tips? Should I get put him down as soon as he sleeps and bear the resetting bit and is it normal for babies to wake up 30-40 mins later after putting them down for night time sleep?

Just for context my baby is about the turn 5 months so I know it’s developmentally appropriate for them to wake up 30-40 mins after nap / daytime sleep but is this also meant to happen for night time sleep? Could it also be a problem linked to false start?
