Clary sage oil

I am 39 weeks and 3 days and I haven’t had any signs of labour at all, has anyone use clary sage oil to bring on labour? Just not sure how safe it really is

I used it from 35ish weeks, I only put it on a cloth and smelled it but it didn’t do anything

My daughter was born via induction to emergency c section at 37+2

What brand are you using? If pure grade 100% natural oils (no synthetics) it’ll defiantly be safe to use.

It’s definitely safe if using natural oil. I started to use in roller and diffuser around 39w, I went to 42+2 and I drank the teas, did the exercises and did the oils , it all depends on your own body

It's safe but not sure there's any evidence to demonstrate it can kickstart/bring forward labour. There might be some evidence to show that it can help with contractions steadily progressing once labour commences but I haven't looked into it. I was actually offered clary sage while in labour with my 3rd child (in hospital, midwife offered it). I don't know if it made any difference but there was no harm in smelling it while in labour 😊. All 3 of my labours were quite fast so I don't think clary sage had any impact in my case but maybe it can provide some benefits to others and there's no harm in trying.
